Trying to locate a Gordon Gilbert who was Canadian by birth and married an English girl in the 1940's. Gordon lived at Stanhills Road Kingswinford before moving to Golder's Green? London. He would be in his 90's by now and my great Uncle Stan White, who he used to correspond with, would like to get in touch. Can anyone help? Reply

Hi There I moved over to Kingswinford about 5 years ago. Up until quite recently I have never really bothered with any locals as I was quite content with my friends that I had from College (Dudley College) and work (Pensnett Trading Estate). I realised that life is short - that I want to get out there - enjoy it while I still can, and that I'd like to get to know a lot of others in my are a, so that I could enjoy learning about new people and gaining friendships. I am nearing 21 (in October!) and I work on the Pensnett Trading Estate. I am usually lively and energetic, always ready for a night out in Wolverhampton and the like! I believe I would try my hand at most things (I'd probably be terrible but at least I'll try it out!) I have strong family history in Hinksford but emigrated in 68 to Australia when I was 6. I lived in the house next to power station and also my father Thomas James Chambers grew up there, his parents being James and Mary Adelaide Chambers with 4 other siblings. Also he was born at the old mill in Hinksford lane and lived in the farm house there for a little while (lane way in between the Old Bush pub and power house. Also his grandparents Benjamin and Althea Chambers lived in the house across from the power house. These houses are suppose to be haunted also. It's now up for sale and needs renovating. I was looking at buying it myself but it's too close to all the farm buildings. It's down a little lane running between Hinksford Farm and Hinksford House.
