The Best Things
  • Humour. Kirkby is the comedy capitla of the UK. You cannot evesdrop better conversations that you can in Kirkby's town centre pubs. I once saw Alan Stubbs (ex Everton) burn a £50 note after someone made him a bet that he'd be retired within 12 months. He was 25 at the time.
  • - Growin up in kirkby :) lets face it .. why would ye wana be a posh snob? it gets ye nowhere an no one would like ye! - Northwood, coz like i rekan its the closest to everywhere like ye ryt by towerhill bridge, not far from the townyy, rite next to southdene an wezzy is only down the road. Paradice :) -the chippys i dont know nower else tha as got as many chippys as uss! so wha if ye find a hair in ye dina, its sound as :) -drinkkin! i love it coz everyone drinks on the streets till ther like 16. an its the best ever. like goin the towny park/chad/bridge wif ye matess an .. well.. not rememberin anythin the next day, sept for rekaned shoes an findin everythin in your hair! an then wen ye a bit older ye look at people doin wha you used to an .. wel tbh .. ye wana do it all ova again :) GET SMASHEDDDD :D
  • OLD KIRKBY WAS THE BEST...
  • Not much, apart from a few decent folk
  • the people there are fab welcoming people
  • just look at the view when driving in. you dont get that in town the green is fab.
  • Tony jAMES
  • The Best thing about Kirkby .. IS KIRKBY... The Town .. The PEOPLE. A lot of people from Kirkby have "made it" .. And remained in the town .
  • The community spirit...AND there ARE friendly people.
  • The best thing bout kirkby is that its close 2 Goodison but most of all it is the home of my 1 and only babe RACHEL BUCKLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She iz fyne n i love her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I visited Kirkby at night with my dad, i said "well it sighnposted clear enough" so Dad just grunted and said "well I hope that it's clearly signposted to get out". What i am saying is that even now poeple who remember Kirkby as it was when it was first built still think taht it's a bad place, Why? that was all 40 years ago things change so those that still think that kirkby is a bad place can just get knotted.
  • I loved growing up in Kirkby, but I was one of the ones who got out when I was older, I now live in the USA and have been here for seven years. My parents and all my family still live in Kirkby, yeah I miss the people, and the great times I had in the bars and clubs, you just dont have that anywhere else but England,,,, but Kirkby is not a place I would bring up my kids in.. My parents did a great job bringing out the best parts of kirkby for me and my brother... Its the people in Kirkby that make it the place it is....
  • billy brown ad his amazing powers to piss higher than a bus stop from his wheelchair
  • THE COMUNTITEE APART FROM THE SMACK HEADS.
  • FRIDAY NITES.....THE GIRLZ ON STORM OR IS IT VODKA NOW......DOWN THE BACK OF INSHOPS OR STATION WERE YOU'LL SEE SOME GOOD LOOKING LADS AND GIRLS
  • DEFINATELY THE SENSE OF HUMOUR IN THE PEOPLE WHEREVER YOU GO YOU CAN HAVE A LAFF, THE MARKET IS QUITE GOOD TOO
  • THE BEST! place in the world to grow up in as long as your clever enough and ambitious enough to get out when your older! before your sucked to the depths of hopelessness! speaking from experience!but when your young wow! the magic of growing up there holt jumps! the canal! the townie! the chad! getting to grips with yeah birdafter school at your school! being one of the ones that never got beat up! aaaaar lifes great until yeah find out you gotta get one!
  • I am (apparently) a "woolyback" and southern softie and all that, but I have been to Kirkby many, many times and love the place. Everyone is so amazed to meet a visitor, and treat you very well indeed. Go in the Boffin.
  • Maybe coz i come from there but i think that the people are harmless and you're in no real danger (contrary to what you may be told!). All-in-all it was an OK place to be reared..... i've been to better but i've also been to worse places!
  • Half of my family live there!
  • Yes ok, there is a 30% unemployment rate, and some of the kids are scallies. However, Kirkby is a very green place, it has trees and fields and woodland. Some of the people may not be the most sophisticated around, but they are amongst the kindest that I have ever encountered.
  • The don't give a shit attitude that EVERYBODY has. There is no respect for any one or anything!!!
