You can tell us more about Lampeter.
Arts, crafts and such
- Try "Our Style" or "Stiel Ni." Sells all kinds of bollocks like crystals that make you more powerful. Wear a gas mask or adapt to breathing pure incense.
- lampeter does have a cultural side to it and has a strong sense of community. i don't see why it has to be commercialised to have to exist. arts and crafts began in small communities. it's much more treasured when it stays at it's roots.
if you look further than your idealistic little world you may find there are many talented artists, musicians and TRAINED DANCERS/PRACTITIONERS from Lampeter.
- There's an old biddy called Dot who's a real work of art. We met on the corner because she thought I looked cool, and IU thought she look ed cool and well, I was wearing a red nose, and she was wearing very colourful clothes, and then she took me and my friend to an art exhibition. Everybody knows her. She's Dylan Thomas' little sister or something.
- The annual highlights in Lampeter are the Drovers Arts festival, early June, Music, crafts and good fun. Plenty of Hippy types, but a lovely atmosphere, family friendly and it only needs the regular locals to open their narrow minds and see what a great venue this is.
The Annual Food festival, best of local food and produce, Music and good food.
Can be a wonderful day out, more locals at this event, they seem to think this is for the town and the Drovers isn't, sad mistake.
Women in tune needs a special mention, an Annual Womens festival with no Men allowed. Great Music, and Dance, good place to make new friends.
It is sad that it has become a huge event for Lesbians in Wales, but I suppose live and let live. It does keep a lot of straight Women away and the Fact that Male children above a certain age are not allowed in, makes it seem sinister in some way. Could be improved by allowing one evening or day when males are made welcome.
- RANDOM COLLECTION AND OH THE FOUNDERS LIBARY- AREALLY NICE LADY WORKS THERE
- several tree hugging hippy shops. More ethnic furniture, anyone?
- Does 'The studio' count as an art shop? It sounds arty anyway.
- Celtic Edge, which used to be Y Galeri. Also sells guitar strings etc.
