You can tell us more about Lampeter.

Cringing Cult of Celebrity
  • Henry James Prince was a defrocked clergyman who stirred controversy from the start of his career in the church, organising a group of zealous students at St David's College called the Lampeter Brethren. Hearing voices in his head that he took to be the word of God he led this small devout band attacking the college hierarchy, disrupting services and accusing them of submitting to 'the insinuations of carnal desire' In many ways Prince captures for all time what Coleg Dewi Sant Prifysgol Cymru Llanbedr Pont Steffan is trying to instill in all of us... http://www.utopia-britannica.org.uk/pages/abode%20of%20love.htm
  • Sir Anthony Hopkins wasn't a student at Lampeter. He turned up one afternoon to open a building and then sensibly got his chauffeur to take him home again! He was also made an Honorary Fellow of the English Department which is probably what causes most of the confusion. And he received an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters from the University of Wales on 16 July 1988.
