Still looking for info on a lost relative of my stepfather. Greta Whittall ( nee Emondson) born 1909 Barrow-in-Furness, left or was kicked out of the family home due to a crises not known as my stepfather was only four years old, never heard from or saw her again, knows nothing of her family, just really trying to find what become of his mother during the time she went, her birth certificates sta tes William Edmondson b: 1888 as her father, Angelina Edmondson ( nee Harvey) as mother. 1911 census shows her as an only child at that time aged two, living at 89, Smeaton Street, Cumbria. it is thought that she may have went to London or Scotland, could have remarried had more children whatever. any info would be much appreciated ... more >> Reply

My grandfather, George Alfred Davies, disappeared in 1939, leaving his family. He was known to live at 30 Bridge Lane in 1934 and 117 St Leanordgate by 1937. He was married to Emily/Helen/Nellie Cunningham - not sure of first name as records differ. She died 1937. He then went Kendal and was living with Clara Lock with whom he had twin girls, Lena & Rhoda Lock in 1938. He disappeared in 1939 after a trip to the Grand National at Aintree.
