The Best Things
- Nothing is good in lavendon except from the exit sign.
- Nothing is good in lavendon except from the exit sign.
- I've lived here for a wee while now and have always found the 'locals' very friendly and welcoming. Also the migrants now far outnumber the born and bred villagers this has added to the village's character.
Most of the migrants have come to Lavendon initially because of the cost of the houses but also because they would like to contribute something to village life.
- The School is fantastic, the staff are helpful and they are always coming up with new ideas for the pupils.
- Jacks Close - Despite comments by some narrow minded snob's Jacks Close is a great place to live, a nice community spirit, friendly unlike the snobs that live in the Glebe (a lifeless dumping ground for non locals who want to share some of country life with those that have lived in the area all their life's).
- Lavendon School has a new headteacher! Lavendon Pre-School, now residing at the Pavilion behind the Green Man car park still going but needs support from the village.
- The Lavendon Narrow Gauge Railway is open to the public at different times throughout the year. In addition to the railway there is a collection of aircraft cockpits including a Lightening, Hunter, Provost, Canberra and other bygones.
- The end of the football season.
- You have to laugh don't you. How can a village be described as good based on the fact that there are plenty of dinner parties. It makes my head hurt!
- I feel there is a community spirit in the village. We certainly help neighbours etc and there are plenty of dinner parties.
