The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Lavendon.
Pubs
- Our pubs offer a wide choice of refreshment and also a wide range of food choices. The Horseshoe pub specialises in fish dishes - their catch is fresh daily. The Green Man is more of a wider range of dishes including curry and pasta.
- Fantastic Food at the Greenman and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
- The Green Man has been aquired by Green King. Great if you like cloudy beer and food prepared from poor quality ingredients. If you are in the business why not get it right instaed of wrong.
- Green King have aquired the Green Man. In no time at all they quickly pissed off the licencees who have now made their own arrangements. We have lost a great team behind the bar and in the kitchen. Green King have lost their minds.
Remember the old saying if it aint broke, don't mend it. The way things are going it will be an ideal venue for training astronuats (no atmosphere).
- Having moved to Lavendon from Olney a year ago we have found the hospitality exetended to us as "Newcomers / outsiders" a very warm and most sincere one at the Green Man. A village pub is there for all and both the Horseshoe and the Green Man have things to offer in their own fields so go and enjoy both they are in walking distance of each other but not possibly at the end of the evening. Look forward to any return comments.
- Having read the existing comments about the Green Man, I am a local and use the Pub frequently. They also offer early bird value for money meals and certainly stage various events throughout the year. Both the Green Man and the Horseshoes have much to offer in their own ways.
- The Green Man
- The Green Man is owned by a chain and has changed managers more times than they have had guest beers. OK but generally a spot for passers by, as a villager I don't see other villagers in there very often. The Horse Shoe (the brightly lit pub on the other side of the A428) is a better local pub. It does quiz nights and stuff to try and attract the locals in.
