The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
- The bypass once programmed for Lavendon has now died a death. We are told that since the A428 was de-trunked the volume of traffic has dropped and there is now no overwhelming need for it.
- The Lavendon Life Magazine has not been published for a couple of years. The plan is to introduce a website to provide information on the village.
- Lavendon is the home of the LNGR (Lavendon Narrow Gauge Railway). It is operated by the Collins family who also have a collection of aircraft front ends and other memorabelia. A very interesting place to visit.
Profits from LNGR are donated to village charities and other deserving causes .
- Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Freeloader on increasing their contribution to village life by 100%. Mind you a 100% of sweet FA isn't a lot.
- Lavendon Pre-school provides earley learning facilities for children in the village and surrounding district. It is a registered chasrity and is therfore non-profit making. It has an excellant staff and has received ofsted rave reviews.
- Lavendon Pre-school (at the Old SChool, High Street) provides excellant early learning facilities. It is operated by qualified staff and has had excellant results from OFSTED inspections.
Very reasonable session fees.
- Lavendon has a very special Pre-school (a registered charity)which provides early learning facilities for children in the village and local area. The recent Ofsted inspection resulted in a glowing report.
Lavendon Narrow Gauge Railway operates at various times through the year. Take your youngsters for a ride on the train to visit Father Christmas.
Lavendon has its own village magazine call LAVENDON LIFE. This is Published ten times per annum and is a good form of communication locally. If you would like to subscribe on a regular basis, you can ontain the magazine from the village Post Office & Stores or one of the many local distributors.
