You can tell us more about Leamington Spa.

Cheap Food
  • jackpratsrestaurant.co.uk great food big portions small prices
  • There are some takeaways such as Dino's, Sakaryas and for a proper bargain indian home cooked style Senior Kangs is top!
  • satchwells is quite nice the oriental star is good if your starving for 5.90 in the day!eat as much as you want and they have many chains like zizzi ask frankie and bennies etc..
  • paw paw..its a bit out of town (warwick gates) but its the nuts
  • McDonalds, mr spuds
  • dino's all the way duuuuudes
  • Leamington is full of cheap takeaways since everyone there lives in council property and can't afford good food.
  • Kaldi does great baguettes and paninis or M-T-Tums.
  • we have mccyds but burger king is much nicer so you should go there or theres pizza hut or the paprika club or thai elephant which do the best thai.
  • Maccy D's, Gregs. u cant really call it 'decent' tho, the ammount of turd they pour into it
  • Kismet - excellent curry !!
  • You want cheap food? Try the bins outisde McDonald's...
  • the Lounge excellent venue for a catch up with friends and a spot of lunch relaxing atmosphere with a trendy jazz vibe that does't cost the earth
  • PAW PAW Chinese take away and delivery on Warwick Gates is brilliant
  • Pizza hut! Frankie & Bennies, MacDonalds! Burger King, Smiths restaurant
  • crown way fish and chip shop in lillington is fantastic!!!!!! we got the best chinese take away and indian take away too
  • mmm chips from the BIG FISH, there is no better meal!!!
  • Oriental Star
  • Newbold Brassiere [sic!] not cheap but good. Slug&Lettuce, sausage and Moo do good lunches
  • Tarsus Kebab! - their southern fried potatoes are excellent...
  • The Big Bite - superlative service, friendly atmosphere and the best sarnies in town. A really nic eplace to meet up with friends and spend an hour or so having a chinwag. Great little place.
  • The Big Bite - newly reopened after a disasterous flooding episode - still the best place in Leam for a lunchtime snack. Good selection of fodder available and the staff are genuinely warm and friendly... and that goes a long way to ensuring that customers return in my opinion. Reasonably priced too and service is fast. Nice to take a friend and equally nice to go and sit on your tod and get some peace and quiet from the rest of the world!
  • the best chinese is the emporers and the golden dragon on the left at the bottom of the parade for an on-a-budget version. SOLO does by far the best food, and very nice wine. Wildes is the best bar food (top of town on left)
  • Toyk has lovely food. Rhubarb does delicious healthy food. The Basement on Spencer Str./Avenue Rd. - opposite it the best Indian takeaway! Spicy Nights rules! Solo is cool. And Pizza Express might not be very special foodwise but it's a classic place to hang about. Wilde's does very nice "French-ish" food and the mussels are great!
  • Cafe Rouge, Bens Cookies, Piccolinos (amazing pizzas) Golden Dragon
  • Cafe Rouge, or Rouge as it is now is really shit in Leamington. It is staffed only by incompetent 16 year olds who haven't a clue what they are doing. Food was cold the last time I went in, sent it back and the next set of food was just as cold, no hint of an apology. The manager was a big waste of space also.
  • Shalimar, Augusta Place - excellent choice. Theres always some sort of theme going on and its excellent food. Nice owners (trust me i know them personally). Go there if you want a laugh and a good deal for your money. Also, the potato stall is always a good place 2 go if ur starving and need sumthin cheap 2 fill u up - £2 for a jacket spud with cottage cheese!!! - can u get any better?!!! (no)
  • planty of italians and inians. The chinese buffet at the top is really good value
  • Why has no one mentioned the most fantasticly amazing place that is SPICES Indian Restaurant, just past Jug and Jester.By far the best out of all the Indian places to eat, only slightly more expensive than the amazing Ali's £2.50 balti, but the service is great. They even give you fruit at the end, and a warm cloth to wipe your hands...what more could you ask for?The BEST curries in Leam without a doubt! Late night munchies? Viallis must keep the majority of the student population alive! Going up Clemens Street to Brunswick, royal Fish Bar (mmm, chips) Sakayra (mmm, chicken kebab) past some strange new place that sells everything from pizzas to kebabs to turkish pastries (hmmm, not sure about those!!) and then you reach the mecca that is Chillis. There's just something real special about their Chicken tikka on Naan which satisfies every appetite craving in the world! You can't live in Leam and not go there.
  • I think every conceivable form of popular food has an outlet in Leamington and if you like curries in particular you'll find a range of quality restaurants.
  • Flynns in the parade, formerly Sachers - Great food and great prices - really child friendly.
  • The baked spud stand halfway down the parade - tuna mayo with garlic butter & xtra cheese - awesome
  • Leam has *THE* best range of cheap Indian food - the air in the Southern bit of town smells of curry. Those wanting a cheap sit-down meal could try Raj Bhuj near the railway bridge, alternatively Spicy Nights does killer take-aways for under £7.
  • Try Pasta di Piazza in Park Street or Thai Elephant - pricy but worth it
  • Dinos Pizza is great, always 2 pizza's for the price of one.
  • The Thai Elephant at the bottom of town is very reasonably priced and is absolutely DELICIOUS!
  • You can't beat the Capri Cafe at the back of Tesco's. Does the best all day breakfast - ideal for that Sunday hangover cure.
  • Mr V's do cracking burgers (or at least they used to)
  • anywhere but Mcscrottydonalds or Burger scum. Perfect Pizza on bedford st make nice pizza.
  • Balti's etc. The Delhi Palace (on the High st) is a great place (not the cheapest but still very cheap) to get an amazing plate of fragrant spicy indian goodness. Slightly more posh is the Paprika club on Regent st where the food is a little more oily but still very tasty. The staff in both establisments are very friendly and on the ball. A newer place is Shalamar which I'm told is good and has a belly dancer and Bontempi organ player. Thai Elephant is slightly overpriced but good Thai food with authentic service from achingly polite oriental waitresses. For posh food, try Solo. It's a £25 - 40 a head small restaurant with some really great modern cuisine. They're experts at sauces and deserts and have been favourably written about in the Guardian. Just don't let the waiter call you "chaps". Easier on the pocket is Bistrot 39 and the Basement. Both of which can do you a good three course dinner in nice surroundings and not make you gasp at the bill. Bistrot 39 is a nice cheap place for lunch on a Saturday to break up your shopping expedition and will work out about the same price as a pub lunch.
  • aplenty
  • I used to work in a place called the Grand Union restaurant. They do a set menu of 6 courses starting with your soup, then sorbet, main course etc and finishing off with a pudding parade. Not for the small bellied. Absolutely beautiful food though and the service is top class. (Used to be 25 pounds per head but tht might have changed now)
  • Cafe Rouge, Sacher's, The Boulangerie
  • Sweeneys is always a good choice of excellent food. I go there all the time. Very friendly staff and the chef is excellent!!!
  • The Basement, 1 Spencer Street - sometimes jazz on Tarsus Kebab, High Street - great Turkish takeaway The Emperors, Bath Place - posh Chinese Sozzled Sausage, Regent Street - pub food
  • Emperors - The best restaurant in Leamington Spa, it may be pricy but you get what you pay for! Thai Elephant - Excellent Thai food but try and avoid going at the weekend as things seem to get disorganised when they are busy (starters arriving with main courses etc) Wildes Wine bar - good food and wine
  • Mama's Pizza do a good, affordable delivery service. Everest is a top Indian takeaway.
  • For post-friday night pub crawls go to Halikarnas on Regents Street. You'd never eat their kebabs in whilst sober but after 10 pints they are sheer bliss.
  • Mr.V's - for that all important post pub grease burger. Mr.V's is reasonably cheap, small, scruffy looking burger shop, but the food is gorgeous.
  • The Rendezvous Chinese restaurant - Warwick Street. Doesn't look much from the outside but it serves the best chinese food in town, and it's cheaper than the Emperors.
  • Mcdonalds of course, The Golden Dragon or The Phoenix as it used to be called A Chinese Restaurant, excellent, The Harvester in Warwick a town near Leamington, A 10 minute drive or ask for the Saxon Mill a local will know
  • Seattle Coffee House: Not really food as such but provides alternative to Rhubarb 'n Crumble. Has excellent "Friends" type leather sofa thats great for six of you piling onto for Coffee and biccies. Good to go to wake up in the Morning. In the little open area off the back of the shopping arcade on Warwick St.
  • The entry for "Rhubarb and Crumble" should read "Rhubarb Crumble". As well as coffee, they serve a great selection of veggie meals and snacks. Really welcoming place to sit and pass the time, read the paper etc. Some of the staff are quite cute, especially little Joe. The entry for "Royal Priors" should read "Jephson's Cafe, Regency Arcade" (Royal Priors is the other mall, at the upper end of the Parade)
  • Rhubarb and Crumble (see Best and Worst section). Definitely in the best.
  • Coffee place. The Royal Priors at the bottom of the Parade (main drag) - Balcony in the summer, only about three tables, but excellent views of the town. You can watch everyone come out of Rackhams...
  • Piccolino's - at the bottom of town, near the main church - Excellent, and not expensive.
  • Wine Bar. Wilde's, at top of Parade (basement, so ask someone for directions) - Good atmosphere, but fairly expensive. Go once!
  • Alistair's - Same.
  • Sacha's at the top of the parade.
  • Sachers - Good fodder but a bit on the pricy side - packed on a Saturday. Seattle Coffee Company - EXCELLENT coffee house with good but very pricey sandwiches and a vast varray of coffees. - I love the place.
