• Not so much a building, but the following estates could benefit from a nuclear war-head paying a visit - preferably WITH the residents in them at the time. New Parks, Braunstone, Eyres Monsell, Beaumont Leys, Stocking Farm, Rushey Mead, Northfields.
• The former DSS building next to Charles Street Jobcentre. It's made of concrete which has blackened. Just a slab, but not as attractive as the black slab in '2001 A Space Odyssey'.

• There are amny ugly buildings in leicester, particularly the haymarket. However I have learned that the council intend to refurbish the whole area and turn it into a 'cultural quarter' - cool

• All the job agencies in the city centre. I was unemployed once and all I could get was agency work, working 12 hours a day 6 days a week in a sweatshop (or Pork Pie Factory) in Thurmaston for £2.75 an hour. Degrading and humiliating! I now live in Middlesbrough- even though this is a "depressed" area the wages are far better and there are (believe it or not) more jobs available! Leicester must be the low pay capital of Britain!

• The "St James Hotel": an oval shaped building consisting of two hotel floors on top of a multi-storey car park. As to my knowledge, the most hideous building in Britain. Maybe it deserves to be listed just for this reason.
• The Thames tower and the council buildings on Welford road. Biggest pile of pants when you talk about design.
• The whole Haymarket shopping centre
• Fosse Park (large retail park)
• Fletcher building, DMU City campus
