The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
- Rick Gretsch, formerly of Familly and short lived Supergroup Blind Faith with Ginger Baker,Eric clapton, and Steve Winwood inThe park. and lived as a neighbour and Friend for several years in Rowlatts Hill , a truly great artist, and a sad loss just a few years after I last saw him
- Leicester is dope just for chillin' and skating, anyone that is all like that place is blown out can shut up, Leciester is good.
- A small village, south of Leicester, Countesthorpe , was not known as Niffy Cradock but Niffy Crackham or just plain Niffy. My family came from there in the 1860s.
- I'm going to be politically incorrect here - too many bloody asylum seekers and imigrants - bet you don't publish that!
- A new Natioanl Space Centre attracts visitors from all over Britain.
- Anthony Mason known also as Tony Green or Greeny is 45 year old man using women to make money. Currently lives 29 Swithland Avenue and has been connected with Baby Squad. He had his own cloth shop in Nottingham however it got burned...Be aware and if you have any info of him, please get in touch.
- Leicester is a really cool place to shop. There are plenty of shops, and usually its not to busy. There are some sick skake parks and shops.
- Uhmmmm... if you're bored of Leicester, goto Birmingham, its much better.
- krishna's on lorne road, clarendon park, is great, with his shady backroom tricks, a true neighborhood cornershop. just don't hurt his feelings by walking past his window with jacksons bags. one of my favourite shops is ocean commotion. if only for the name and the colourful sign. i bought a goldfish from there and it got sick and died. that was of course more to do with my maltreatment than the shop.
- Great Central Railway steam connection at Birstal, north of City, to Loughborough. Steam museum next to the National Space Centre (2! yes 2! real rockets, wow!).
- Another World and The Very Bizarr. They are great shops for decent clothes and all the weird stuff.
- bhidis and pan chewing taxi drivers.
although social clubs look dull from the outside u'd be suprised.
the cemetery u see on coming into leicester station was one of the first "new" planned cemeteries in the country. ! .
jewry wall is supposedly the highest surviving roman city wall fragment in england. splat a rat is the focal point of the museum's open day. try it. don't get in the way of the vikings though, they get very enthusiaistic.
hire a barge for a party!
- umm, come to see it cos its aint too shabby, and i like it despite what ne1 else says, and the uni is nice looking
- wANKING OUTSIDE
- I am tring to get in touch with a young chinese student at university of leiceter, whose name is Du Jian or John Du. We lost contact for the last 3 months. He is 20 years old with shy expression in many cases. Please inform email: liurh@sdb.com.cn if there is any information. Thank you so much
Liu Renhe, Shenzhen Development Bank, China
- How to avoid leicester as best as possible if u want a good night out
- The band Carolgees. Remember the name
- Come to the university shop, the staff there are lovely.
Signed, member of University shop staff.
- Leicester generally is a nice place. It has a good uni, nice parks and some cool little shops that you won't find anywhere else. It has been known as the environmental city but that was just because the council when round putting hanging baskets up everywhere. Damnation - a rock night held once a month (the first weekend) at the leicester uni provides a good mochin' ground with cheap uni beers - all welcome.
- Category: Stupidest thing u have ever done on a night out in leicester :-
it has to be when i drank 14 shots of whiskey and fell asleep in Traz
- You have things listed as being in the Silver arcade Leicester. The Silver arcade no longer exists as a location for shops unfortuntely. All the shops that were there have closed down or relocated elsewhere.
- Man & Lady cannot live on skateboards alone! I think you need to introduce a catagory for FABULOUS shops that exist to make birthdays & Xmas worthwhile calendar dates. Please someone mention SET DESIGN... Fab stuff and fab staff. Thankyou
- WE NEED MORE SKATEING FASCILITIES, ALSO WE NEED PEOPLE TO DO MORE GRAFFITI ART, IT LOOKS GREAT, NOT TAGGING THOUGH THAT GIVES US ALL A BAD NAME BUT PROPER ART.
- Andy:WE NEED MORE SKATEING FASCILITIES, ALSO WE NEED PEOPLE TO DO MORE GRAFFITI ART, IT LOOKS GREAT, NOT TAGGING THOUGH THAT GIVES US ALL A BAD NAME BUT PROPER ART.
- I don't know if any one else feels like this but, I moved from Leicester in 1988 [I use to live on the Northfields] After travelling around, I settled in Market Harborough in the mid nineties.
When I come back to Leicester to visit my mum, I find it depressing beyond belief. Where the old Salutation stood [Sally]is now a pile of rubble which, the council has done nothing about to clear; the old car showroom [can't think of the name] is a wreck and the whole area has a feeling of neglect.
Leicester has some nice areas but, it's embarrassing to find that there is a bus tour around Leicester. Does it show all aspects of Leicester? Do people feel the same and think that some thing needs to be donwe to brighten areas in Leicester?
- Removal , packing and storage within East Midlands: Leicestershire, Nottingham, Peterborough, ...
- I used to live in Leicester, and have very, very fond memories of the place. So could someone tell me what a 'Batman' is?
- Does Leicester have the worst tranpsport link to the east in the country? It takes over 2 hours to get to Northampton on the train, a staggering distance of 41 miles. Fine for London though, as usual.
- Why is Leicester called a city of surprises?
- There needs to be either a direct train or bus from leamington spa. The journey takes
double the time it should. i know that this service would be a lot popular if there was
a direct service.
- Every other shop in Leicester is now a pub.
Sorry if every section mentions CASINO - but if you ask a fish to get you a newspaper, its gonna come back wet, ya getz mi!
- i love to build ramps but i have nowhere for them to go, if you know where we
could put one and you have a few quid for some wood and nails then i will help you!
contact me for info or ring me now on: 0780 977 410.
- Richars III's remains actally lie beneath a small nondescript red-brick office building at the bottom of King Richards Rd (strangely enough!). There is a plaque set into the building stating it.
- If you're thinking about living in Leicester, I would most heartily recommend Clarendon Park.
Its fairly easy to find places for rent here in (a) the Leicester Mercury classifieds section, or (b) in the County News shop window on Queen's Road, or (c) in the housing office of Leicester University.
It's clean, quite quiet, pretty much crime free, right next to a massive (and v.safe, clean etc) recreational area (Victoria Park), is 5 mins from Leicester Uni and 15 mins walk from De Montfort Uni and town itself.
Has a couple of nice places to drink, and one good restaurant. Many takeaway food outlets.
You'd be crazy to live anywhere else, in my opinion.
- For history nuts Leicester has quite a lot. Roman Forum remains and mosaics, Saxon churches (St Nicholas), Norman stuff and onwards.
- The small village just south of Leicester called Countesthorpe in ye olde days used to be called 'Niffy Craddock'!
- Miles: The schools make excellent skating, every street facility you need is there. However we always get thrown off by the teachers. But we always go back again.
- True: Best is all of the "Marshmallow Fluff" sold in the co-op. Lamest is the fact that there's a lot of bitching, a lot of skaters don't get on. And, graffiti-wise, there's a lot of crossing out.
- D Millward: If you're a tourist sort of person the Cathedral is nice and so are all the statues and stuff about Richard III who spent a night in Leicester before going to Melton Mowbray and getting his butt kicked (the locals are pretty proud of that for some reason).
[BUT: Please note that Richard III "got his but kicked" at Bosworth, not Melton Mowbray.] The Cathedral grounds are a nice place to eat lunch if it's warm and if it's cold, try Mcdonalds or Pizza Hut. If you want adventure, try wearing totally white clothes in Highfields or Belgrave and see how cool you feel. If you need parking, Highfields is only a ten minute walk from Gallowtree Gate, just make sure you have an anti-theft device on your car. If you're into spirituality, every Eastern religion in the world is in Leicester. Try your hand in speaking Punjabe or Erdu. If you're feeling especially stupid, spend long lengths of time in St. Matthews. All the street names are from Canada to make you feel at home but the grott tower flats and the surveilance cameras are enough to make your skin crawl. Demontfort University is there so if you're looking for student co-eds, Leicester is the place, especially in the summer. - If it's cold, certainly do not try McDonalds or Pizza Hut, since they do the same mediocre shite American food that you can get in every other town in the entire world. This page is about Leicester. There are hundreds of better places to eat -- take a look at the places listed here.
- Big companies such as Walkers Crisps, and Next are from Leicester. The Virtual Reality machine was invented and is made by the Leicester firm Virtuality. (The ones you see in Beatties).

- You forgot to mention that Leicester was the city that DNA finger printing was invented. (Did it help OJ get off?? no double entendre)
- I was studying at DeMontfort Uni last year. I was reading somewhere that there was a Robin Hood born in Rutland around 1390, the same time Robin Hood was supposedly born. He was also a criminal. (If you can call him that.)
