- Ronnie Biggs, Bruce Reynolds, Buster Edwards who respectfully kept with LB tradition by coshing Jack Mills inside a train carriage. Silver Bullet aka Richard Brown who was a grass apparently.
- Mat Monroe lived here for a while
- Micheal Barrymore, various soap stars.
- Mary Norton wrote The Borrowers lived in what is now the Leighton Middle School
Various members of 1980s group Gajagoogoo live here -Nick Beggs, Steve Askew.
The Barron Knights live here
- The lead singer of 80's band Kajagoogoo was born here, twenty years after their 15 minutes of fame the band was looking for a new drummer or bass player, it was the main story in the local newspaper. Not a lot happens around here really.

- the most famous person i know iz my dad -well in leighton that is- everyone seems to know him or is that the special quality leighton has we have nothing better too do than talk to peps we hardly know and find out wot they bin up 2
- Most people living in Leighton Buzzard have probably never heard of Thomas Sayre since he left there in the early 1600's, went to America and became one of the founders of Southampton, New York. Southampton is a beautiful place and so exclusive that, as far as I know, none of the Sayres can afford to live there today. I visited Leighton Buzzard and All Saints Church a few years ago and found both to be very charming. The church was beautiful, the canal boats were colorful,the pubs were friendly and warm, and the market was a lot of fun and the air was breathable (not at all like Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Be thankful for what you have.

- Baron Knights come from and still live in Leighton Buzzard. Silver Bullet (the 90's rapper) came form Leighton Buzzard. Bob Monkhouse lives just outside

- DLT used to have a haircut (?) at Hairlines on Wing road.....A small trim Im sure.
