  • Sir Arthur Foldsworthy, who patented the football in 1753. Brigadier Lt Col Strondheim, mastermind and leader of the Seige of Liphook, 1812. Mavis Scallon, who has the world's largest collection of false teeth. The world's oldest living marmoset, Sidney, lives in Liphook. Now aged 103, he doesn't get out much any more.
