Oh, and the Beatles.
  • I live in Liverpool and remember a great soul/pop group called THE CHRISTIANS. They had a string of hits in the 1980s and were brilliant! Also - anybody remember Billy Fury? He was Britan's answer to Elvis and was the number one male solo artist of the 1960s.

  • Jim Bennett is one of the great poets who has come from Liverpool. A brillient performer who appears with the Dead Good Poets in Liverpool at the Pilgrim Pub, 1st Thursday of each Month. A fab singer and songwriter also.
  • Jim Bennett (sadly better known in the States, than here) prolific writer and poet. The greatest of them all: Ken Dodd - funniest (and clean with it) comediene England has. Johny Marlowe (used to be Johnny and the Whipcords) still playing the clubs and making a good living at it.

  • The Beatles, santa lookalike 'big Abe' Xavier lives in the Queen Square Marriot and, of course, the poor mans posh 'n' becks - Louise and Jamie Redknapp.

  • Dr Duncan, the world's first city medical officer. Dr Duncan is corremorated in the name of an excellent new pub next to the Swallow hotel. John Birt, Cherie Blair, Peter Sissons.
  • Fred the weatherman, the cast of Hollyoaks (probably not a pulling point)and loads of bands- Cast, Space etc. Although I don't think he's a resident, the drummer from Gomez has been spotted several times in The Krazy House (nobody cares do they? Ah, the apathy)

  • Gerry Marsden from Gerry & The Pacemakers "Mr Merseyside" He's genuine, really nice bloke, Top Scouser! and he STILL lives on Merseyside, not done a runner down south with the rest of em i.e. Jimmy Tabuck, Cilla Black etc.
  • Gerry (Mr Merseyside) Marsden came from the Dingle. "so ferry 'cross the Mersey 'cause this lands the place I love and here I'll stay" and he has!
