• Please could we call it Llanilltud Fawr. At least Illtud is a saint whereas twit means nothing.
• Llantwit is the home of Happybirthdaytoyou.com, one of the UK's top 1% of websites, as featured on BBC Wales TV and radio news, and soon to appear on Channel 4 and CNN...!!
• The Surfing:- The Point - long right, holds swell up to 8'. shorter left - but still good The Left - long, sometimes tubey, right-hand wave (akin to J-Bay) The Ledges - point & shoot at high tide ( a helmet if you're scared!!) Remember - huge tidal range (up to 14m) & big rip tides!!
• Llantwit is a bit of an odd town because its location means that it is quite isolated : you can't end up there by accident, only by choice. Like many small rural towns there is a lot of drug-taking.
• Wicked surfing beach: heavy locals only attitude though. Very good scene at the ramp. BUT lotta bladers.
• Llantwit is definitely a good place to live, but probably not so good if you are not a local.
• You can surf AND skateboard here. Lots of rain. Few skate shops an zero indoors or skatepark stuff. Llantwit? Count the "No Skateboards" signs, it's fun. "Wherefore did Nature pour her bounties fourth/ With such a full and unwithdrawing hand?" I ask you. No, it's not really THAT good, is it?

• Millennium Party Giude. An all inclusive black tie party at a central location in Llantwit Major is being organized. If you are aged thirty to forty and a past or present resident of LM area, you may wish to attend. The cost is expected to be £50 per adult in addition to a £20 deposit, refunded within a fortnight of the party subject to good behaviour and no damage to the fabric of the building. • LLANDOW RACE CIRCUIT is located 2 miles outside Llantwit Major. It is the oldest Motor Racing circuit in Wales and offers a 1 mile tarmac track for motor related entertainment including Single Seater Race and Rally Schools, private hire for testing and RAC Sprint events There is also a seperate outdoor karting circuit catering for group and arrive and drive participants.
