• Lochgelly is an old mining town, it has high unemployment, thus the reason for the dodgy folk hanging around. Anyone with any sense will move away to better things, given half the chance. There is still a sense of community within certain areas of Lochgelly, particulary amongst the elderly community who should not be forgotten and those who are trying (in vein) to stop the junkies and other dodgy YSL types. Also, if there are prostitutes hanging at the cross, they must be the cheapest ones around!
