- The guy who comes up to you at the bus stop and tells you his life story
- theres the weird traffic warden you know the one looks like his clothes dont fit right and he's always walking quite quickly and never lookin at the cars. if only they all could be like him.
- 'Lend me a pound', often muttered by the old honmeless guy in the highstreet, although i havent seen him for a couple of months.
The other homeless guy in long eaton can be found sat in the high street entertaining the shoppers by hitting random notes on his miniature xylophone
- buskers are frowned on andoccasionally eaten in long eaton, and it is often hard to seperate "characters" from "locals"
- The best was Noel who was never seen without his dog,but sadley Noel passed away this year.
there was also a bloke who we called catweasel,he's still about!
- May we pay tribute here to a recently deseased local character. Knowle passed away recently and will be missed by all his drinking buddies, as well as his dog. Thats ther trouble round here, us eccentrics seem to have very short lifespans.
- Bald headed and with goatee beards it has to be the local firm of "time gentelmen please" otherwise you`ll get hurt!!! it has to be said A E have a ward reserved for the casualties who disagree with these gentle men (NOT)
Rivalary between Bass house staff and Yates staff can cause bad feeling, Yeah right!
- Mad Briar Gate woman- what a voice!
- mo-ped loosers!!!
- Ah yes, the guy with the harmonica. I believe he was famous once. He played for Howlin Wolf, or maybe Showaddy woddy, but strangley he says he had to quit the rat race and makes more money next to the Abbey National now.
- opposite market on high street
