Cinemas
  • Now that is has been renovated the Reel cinema in Loughborough is worth a visit, the theatres are on the small side and the one at the top can get rather cold but the price was reasonable and it was clean and tidy. If you dont mind travelling and want more space then it has to be the Odeon Freemans Park. Vue at the Meridian Leisure Park is more expensive and you will queue forever for your tickets mid week because the box office is usually closed so you have to join the food queues for your tickets so allow plenty of time
  • The cinemas, got better since its been done up but looks like a sycho-hangout plus its gone up by like £1 for no reason
  • Flix! A student run Cinema located on campus which is much cleaner than the Curzon by the sounds of it!
  • Although the Curzon is quaint ,film selection is poor, I would rather go to Derby Showcase.
  • cheap and chearfull
  • The Curzon....mmmm not really a cinema with a 32 inch screen!
  • I love the Curzon! This decaying ceramic tile-clad Art Deco picture palace smack in the middle of town was last refitted in about 1963 and is all the more atmospheric for it. The best place I've ever been to watch scary films - it has the atmosphere of a haunted house anyway. I moved to Leeds a few years ago and we only have big shiny multiplexes surrounded by parking deserts here, but the old Curzon will always have a place in my heart. One day soon I guess they will probably flatten it and turn it into a wine bar or summat, but all it really needs is a lick of paint... just appreciate it for what it is!
  • yeah its old but it has a screen n a comfy back row
  • haha. u gotta love the curzon. it doesnt matter that it smells is never cleaned and is the size of a pea...its got something about it. no point travelling 2 leicester...experience the charm of the curzon. even if it's only sittin on the steps getting abuse hurled at u from the local...'people',
  • Curzon, simply.
  • Curzon = definition of shit hole
  • Curzon, bit small but v good
  • Freemans Common has a cinema worth travelling to. Loughboroughs cinema smells of mice and has ads about PUTTS which I've seen ever since I can remember. Not recommended
  • only the curzon which is a perfectly adequate cinema for those unfortunate enough to go there. i like to attend film premiere in leicester square in london.
  • Horrible cinema. Its old and still has an intermission in the middle of long films.
  • curzon..not bad...
  • Curzon cinema is a joke. Every year they tell us they're re- doing it to justify the price rises and every year we return to the same smelly flea-pit. The seats are so uncomfortable, it smells and you leave with a dead leg and 190 flea bites per square inch of flesh. Go to Leicester!
  • In Loughborough it is cheaper to go to the cinema but it is quite small.
  • Odeon smelly and shite
  • curzon, in town centre
  • Curzon - it's been there since the stone age, seats are really uncomfortable and some of the screens are rubbish - but it's still great!
  • The Curzon - the original and best.
  • the curzon is amazing. its the only cinema in the counrty without surround sound. the heater at the front make so much noise you need subtitles and your lucky if 3 people ar eint he cinema with you
  • no good cinemas in lufra and avoid the one they have like the plague
  • the curzon sucks its probly the crapest cinema in the world.
  • saturday afternoon on the pull at the curzon (did they actually show any films cause i never bloody watched any) U GIRLS NO WHO U R
  • curzon FINDING NIMOOOO... LOOOOOSSEEEERRR (lol marc)
  • Hot staff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go just to get a look at the beautiful girls!!!!!!!!
  • the girl in there was in the Busted Video
  • loughborough curzon is a kool cinema, its not a big and flashy one thats why its so good, you cna feel dead comfy there too
  • the only cinema is the Curzon. Its erm an experience, but only worth going if screaming kids, screaming teenagers, no leg room, no decent films and undescribably sticky floors are your thing.
  • Dont dream of goin in the Curzon (it always was, always will b a grotty smelly dump)
  • The Classic in Baxter Street. Sadly, for the last 25 years it's been a bingo hall. But those of us who remember Saturday Morning Cinema in the early '70s will remember the glorious foyer with grand staircase and huge windows. Then marvel at the enormous auditorium with balcony. If the bingo ever closes down and someone has a pot of cash let me know.
  • Students can enjoy Flix, Loughborough's Student Cinema based in Loughborough Students Union with one of the largest screens in the East Midlands. Showings are each Sunday at 5.30 and 8.30 for recent blockbusters, with great value pricing of £1 members (membership £5 for the year) £2 Non-members. Visit www.flix.org.uk for more information.
  • curzon-boiling hot,the least comfortable film u'll see
  • Well from the look of it most don't like Curzon. I think it's great though. It's cheap, it's convienent - i mean it hasn't got comfy chairs and great air conditioning - but i wouldn't avoid going there!! btw cinema 6 is like having a massive screenin yor living room!! its tiny!!
  • ***question was-Would you travel miles to see a film there? -- Or would you travel miles to see the same one somewhere better? and it would definalty have to be travel somewhere eles. I suppose its all right if its not a bog film but u need to travle if its a big box office hit the cinemas are about as big as my tv and the sound is my cd player on volume 11. and it cost so much..it also smells
  • The Curzon, A butiful art deco cinema, Straight lines peircing the sky, magestic. Well that was last year now its been bought by Klash, a business mogal, owns most of market street, hes ok but his Idea of renivation involved getting rid of the famous Stage Icons, (a giant beast from Beauty and The Beast) cladding the interia in cheep chipboad(or mdf) and painting it white. Small smelly and cramped, prices now match warner brothers.
  • Loughborough cinema is shit and expensive its 4.50 and the sreening shite and the seats are expenisive food so your better off travelling to notts
  • leave poor curzon alone if u don't like it bugger of and go somewhere else.it does cheap days on mon and thurs.
  • The Curzon -good sound (actually seems to make use of surround sound speakers, unlike some multiplexes I know!), nice building. Bit pricey, but it's not bad.
  • The curzon is much better than those huge big sniny multi screen places, definatley worth a visit. Oh and a tip,if you're in screen 1 leave through the left hand front exit and your right by the phantom pub!! v.handy
  • the curzon
  • The Curzon cinema has just been taken over and the people of Lboro are promised an new state of art cinema. About time too, the Curzon is an old fashioned flea pit and ought to been modernised years ago. Very cold in the winter too!
  • The cinema in this town is the dumps. Don't go there.... ever. go to the Showcase in Notts.
  • curzon cinema is a shit hole, but it shows films, sells chocloate and is incrediably cheep! so it cant be that bad.!
  • 1 cinema, no quasar, no bowling, need i say more about the intrests of lufbra?
  • The cinema in Loughborough is ok, however the staff who seem to permanently be having their time of the month are slightly off putting, making it some what nicer to travel the short distance to Leicester, Derby Nottingham etc.
  • Curzon. Shite, expnsive food & small screens.
  • has to be curzon, doesn't it? There isn't another one
  • SHITE!!!!
  • it just gets worse the cinema isn't really that big if you want to go to a good cinema then i suggest you got to somewhere like the meridian in leicester.
  • Curzon! It does show up to date films. It need a face lift and was supposed to have one. It doesn't belong the large Groups. I go there sometimes.
  • Curzon - Market Place, cheap tickets for all shows on Mon & thursday evenings (get in for the price of a kid)
  • The Curzon is a flea pit but its cheap and has some hilarious local advertising- namely Putts and the Koh-i-Noor
  • Cinema, curzon? You must be joking... try the odeon in leicester...
  • Best off going to Leicester or Nottingham.
  • If you fancy watching a film in surroundings that smell like stale pants worn for three weeks after a good drinking binge then pop over to the Curzon. Although the pants do seem tempting on a Monday and Thursday nights when its student cheap night. Take a packet of Galaxy Minstrels. At the right angle they can really come keen when pelted with full swing. Perfect for those who have fallen into the seat behind you after first falling out of Matt's Bar.
  • Curzon - this is a local cinema... we don't want strangers here. Seriously, it isn't great, but it's local and the prices are good (particulary Monday and Thursday).
  • Loughborough's cinema is the curzon, the screens have only just become colour and the sounds OK untill the old man can't wind his gramaphone anymore. Avoid like the plague. Also renowned for the vileness of its staff.
  • The one and only Curzon - 1950's decor, 1980's films. Go to Fosse park in Leicester.
  • There is apparently going to be a whole new complex built including a cinema, pubs, etc, on the site of the school on Shakespeare Street, behind the new Australian bar.
  • The Curzon, a 1930s-type movie theatre which has been turnrd into a multiplex(badly.)Some seats face the wall at 45 degrees and surround sound, let alone THX, is yet to arrive. Generally decent films though
  • I'm biased in favour of the Curzon, although I admit I did go to Warner Brothers to see The Phantom Menace. There's nowt wrong with the Curzon, despite it's dirty, smelly interior. Anyway, it's all being done up and turned into a multiplex thingy, with a bar, and a restaurant, and God knows what else.
  • Curzon is quite large and reasonably priced. No student discount though.
  • Ugh the only cinema in Loughborough is the Curzon cinema near Mc Donalds but it's CRAP.
  • Curzon cinema. Pricey but will do for taking your missus to
