Where to go to get down

You can tell us more about Lowestoft.

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
  • what about r and b there isnt any thing in lowestoft
  • how come everybody copies the crown hotel from music to karaoke and quiz nights its sad to see but nobody does it as good as the crown
  • Sea breeze (Rock, Metal, punk, EMO etc)
  • FAITH NIGHTCLUB is THE place to go every weekend, friendly doorstaff greet you on arrival at THE HARBOUR INN for your pre-club drinking, Friday's is the busiest nite in the town with the DJ playing dance & r&b classics, past, present & future, chart tracks as well as a splash of fun stuff too. Saturday's is the one where you're guaranteed to see all of your chums and old school friends (my how they've changed, ha ha!), the music is a mixture of the new dance & R&B. Generally there seems to be no hassle which is cool, let's face it when u go out you just wanna have a good time right?
  • wednesday is crown hotel karaoke very busy no trouble, thursday only the crown as everywhere in town is dead and hanks/arena is full of underage kids fighting, fridays is crown party night very good, saturday is racked and stacked at the crown only place to be seen very busy good music no trouble, sunday very sad either crown quiz or very bad r&b at the pyramid recomend win £80 at the crown.
  • FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS THE CROWN HOTEL HAS BEEN THE PLACE TO BE SEEN.THE CROWN PLAYS THE BEST MUSIC IN TOWN. ALSO WEDNESDAYS KARAOKE IS THE BEST IN THE AREA WITH OVER 300 PEOPLE EVERY WEEK. O REILEYS IS NOW FINISHED AND IS A NO GO AREA.ALSO THE CROWN NOW HAS THE VERY BEST SOUND AND LIGHT EQUIPMENT IN TOWN.THE ONLY OTHER PLACE TO GO AND BE SEEN IS HARBOUR/FAITH AND THE THREE VENUES ARE SAFE AND SHIT FREE .
  • Notleys looks nice but is usually full of sad chav's cruising for a fight.
  • Brewery still has entertainment license- and is soon to be under new management with big changes- hopefully this will make it the best it can be- and be the Lowestoft equivilent to Norwich's waterfront? with the right support it could be- and then we will get bigger bands to play Lowestoft.
  • Spiral's the best for Alternative stuff at Bluenotes-sometimes on fridays too.
  • Phil's Flavas at Bluenotes is picking up again. Phil has got rid of the two DJ's who were trying to turn it into a house music night. Phil has enlisted the help of a new young DJ who plays a real nice mixture of funk, soul and hip hop. Not to be missed ! ! Mark.
  • Harbour Inn and Faith Niteclub seem to be the place to be, but watch out for the DJ in faith, if your a regular you'll know what I mean, same mixes and same music week after week!! gets a bit sickning after a while.
  • everyone goes to notleys and the harbour now, bluenotes used to be the place to go on the seafront but it is now called the edge and is always half empty. shame really as had some great nites there.
  • well id say the best ones is notleys and hanks as tiffins hasnt exsisted for the past 2 yrs! but it is bein reopened very soon hopefully! ul prob find underage drinkers but lowestoft wont be the same wiv out them!!!
  • Zone is now The Arena (has been about 5 years!) but it is crap! The Bridgehouse is now The Harbour and Faith (2 bloody great nightspots) Oreillys still gets busy at the mo but has gone downhill and is on the market if you're interested
  • get on the train to Manchester.....
  • Hanks Bar / Arena Nightclub, seafront, 1 floor of cheese, 2 floors of dance, patio open in summer - live music too sometimes. Tiffins Nitespot , station square,- scummy nighclub, v hot, commercial dance, lots of short skirts and boobtubes Bluenotes II, Claremont Pier - small, dark and hot but fantastic nights out. Indie/Alternative every other fri. Then 80s or funk every other alternate fri. Other nites too. Edge bar, claremont pier, v intimate little club/bar
  • Lowestoft was granted a 2pm license april 2000. all clubs stay open til then.
  • Tiffins .....avoid if you are over the age of 20. Hanks and The Arena now open until 2am. Saturday nights good in Hanks for an 80's retro vibe!!!
  • OK Club update. The Zone is no more, It is now called Arena, all that means is that they have added a TV wall, and changed the flooring! The best place to go to is a club called Tiffins, but it is well remembered as Hollywood night, tiffanys along with god knows how many other names, but they have finally managed to get it right!
  • Loads in summer. If you're into pulling 15 year old girls. Rollerskating at Sports Centre on Sunday night. Try Thursday nights at Spiral (Clairmont Pier) for alternative.
  • Hardly the best place I've ever been for clubs (!), places only stay open to around 1.00 a.m. There is "The Zone" along Marine Parade, with a bar called "Hanks" directly underneath it. They stay open to 1.00 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and aren't too bad as Lowestoft goes. I believe Thursday is cheaper than the weekend. "The Carlton Manor" - Local people will remember this as Headley House (or 'Deadly Headley' as it came to be known). Situated in Carlton Colville, I've only been up there once recently, on a Thursday night. It was £3.00 entry, but only a pound a drink once you were in. This made it quite a good evening!!!
