- It's great to see that somebody earlier mentioned some of the bands of the 70's in Luton. I was in Felix and you might be interested to know that, against all expectations, we have done a couple of private reunion gigs (with a slightly 'adjusted' line-up). They have be great fun and the feedback was very good. The old songs actually stood the test of time surprisingly well. If we get around to doing a full-blown public show, we'll let you know. Thanks again for the mention. It's nice to know people remember. Love.
- Asians stabbing eachother- saves them doing it to others.

- Luton is a splendid location with a chequered history of civil unrest, economical activity and dance music.
- BUCKWILDS
- go out at night with a crowd of your mates and your guaranteed to have a good time, but there are not many good things about luton; its what you make of it.
- Mix of cultures, not too expensive, the carnival is a right laugh
- Used to be Runfold Avenue where I live, now too many illegal?? immigrants and 14 year old bad boys. otherwise the Old Moat House pub, that and St. mary's church are the only 2 old buildings in Luton. WHY IS THIS?
- there are many cool people and bands. no short supply of good gigs.
- if your homeless theres alway some one to talk to with is vast amount of homeless people sleeping on every bench in town it would be nice if the council would give to benchs house numbers so the poor homeless people can get mail too
- Going for a walk in Wardown Park and feeding the ducks is cool. So is going up Warden Hills and looking down at the view over Luton. The airport is close so when you go on holiday, and you're tired after the plane journey, you can be tucked up in your bed in 10 minutes. Lots of cultures mixing and learning
- Hockwell Ring
With a strong Carribean orgin it livley place with a strong passion for music and basketball.
There is alot of talent in hockwell Ring with alot of talented rappers , producers, djs,and mcs.
The Hockwell Ring community centre hosts the 3 on3 basket ball tourment showing hockwell ring has talented sports men in basket ball and football and other sports .
the shame of all this is that with all this talent no one is looking or helping .they say luton is the worst town in luton well if they dont put in how can we get out .
- cant say..will get myself in to trouble but she is still luscious!
- Thirty five minutes from Kings Cross. Direct line to Brighton (two hours). Wonderfully colourful sari shops. Hot competition among the Indian Restaurants. Thai restaurants which refuse to die. It's easy to meet other people who like cultural venues as there's hardly anywhere to go.
- local gay band the tempest, whatever happened to them, last i heard the manager got done for child sodomy, and the singer was selling big issue.
- The galaxy centre because of its variety
- Only saviour i expect fro its university population is its proximity to london and milton keynes. Many locals dislike milton keynes for tah fact that they feel the place is a snobby- these people are jealous one expects as my visits to mk have found it much more welcoming than luton
- Some of the people, amount of pubs
- The Arndale Centre
Dunstable Downs
- Playing in the Hatter's car park on the way home from school and sometimes during....Brilliant for trolley racing and death defying jumps onto Maple Road. Is that toyshop still there? And that wonderful memory of a derelict West Side Centre with the Gas works just beyond it where Sainsbury's now stands. And the papier mache flamingos....they were just classic. The "Candy Shop" at the top end of Claremont Road. It's not there any more. It wasn't very big. Dunstable Junior school. It's a sick temple now. It was an old victorian style building. We all thought a witch lived in the bell tower. Scarey.
- the best thing to come out of Luton is the M1. On a serious note the Football club always brings a tear to my eye. Joe's brave boys are doing us all proud in Div 2.
- the best thing that ever happened to luton was exodus. and everyone that doesnt like it has obviously never been there, there is no drama no attitude no racism no bottling or gang fights and if you do, do any of the above you are swiftly removed, which as we all know is defintley not the case in town, so if ypour worried abou young peoples safety exodus was definetley the best place. also it was all about love of music and not whos the hardest or got the best clothes
- BLANK
- I actually like the old swimming pool in Wardown. It's nice and deep, about 16 feet deep. You can do proper swimming in it without weaving your way through armies of stupid children and idiots who think shouting and splashing is "swimming".
- The Arndale contains some useful shops, Waldown Park, industry (though Vauxhall is leaving)
- LUTON has some of the best FILM REVIEWS in the world - available every week in the HERALD & POST... That cute film reviewer guy Matt Adcock is the only reason to read the paper!!
- Luton is the best town/city in England if not the world. Ive lived away from Luton and missed it. As you always know where you stand with a Lutonian, instead of being sly and underhand we say what we think. Most Lutonians hate non-Lutonians, thats why you all hate Luton so much, but we love it!!!
- Some nice shops in the Arndale, interesting industrial estate, some nice estates, useful big stores.
- Great transport links, London only 30mins away, countryside upon our doorstep.
- Drugs cheap - hard and soft- easier to get than £3.50 handrolling tobacco pouch
- Playing 'Wake the tourist' at 3:30am in the airport when drunk.
Playing 'Send the tourist on a train bound for sheffield instaed of the airport' was another favourite of ours.
The fact that Luton people are under no illusions of grandeur in terms of their town.
The Galaxy centre is great. Arcades, cinema, etc.
Junction 10 of the M1.
A great atmospher of tension and urban decay, leading to a feeling that you're in a film as everyone shuffles by avoiding eye contact looking at the floor.
- The people, clubs, jobs, CCTV. The nice buildings, the atmosphere at night in the town on the rare occasion there's no threat of violence, the carnival, Wardown Park, Bushmead, Brammingham, the posh part of Old Bedford Road.
- Nothing in Luton is good
- The pubs.
- Eddies Bar. One person wrote that it should be pulled down to make way for the new station. Don't let it happen. Look at the Arndale Centre! Build eddie a new one? Leave it out! All you'll get is another sterile (?) Yates's/Rat & Parrott etc with no atmosphere or decent beer & full of nasty (18+) teenagers. Build round it!!
- Luton Town Centre. Now much improved. They are making a real effort.
- Luton could easily shake off its downbeat image, come on folks it is not really that bad.
- Definitely the people. I'm not from Luton originally, and have lived away for years at a time, but it's still a lovely town. We know we don't have a great reputation, but who cares - we're happy here!
- Student Nights, Fairy lights, Bare bloke frights. 3 years gettin naked. Chicken kebabs from sammys No. 2 Near the Zone. My mum wasn't there to see what I was up to.
- the town centre looks better than it did but entertainment needs to be improved with more independant night clubs instead of commercial ones. Luton has some good real ale pubs.
- Everything. Live there for a while and you'll see thats its a great plece to chill out, and if you want entertainment, London's only down the road.
- Plenty of green around, especially on Marsh Farm home of
two riots.
- London is just up the road and it's not Milton Keynes!!
- giro day you can afford at least two pints.
- It's not as bad as its image
- me, my mates and sammy's "special coffee" - an ideal addition to any kebab
- Luton Town F.C. ....not!!!! WFC 4-0. Come on you Horns.
- Luton Town FC
- Luton is pretty underground. We've just moved back here after living in Cardiff, and Luton beats it hands down as the people are real and not full of shit. The wages are better here, believe it or not, and accomodation is half the price. The youth system set up by lennie Lawrence at Kenilworth Road is something to be proud of too.
- The nearby countryside- Barton Springs, Sharpenhoe Clappers, and only 40 minutes to Moorgate in the morning to work (pity about the fare).
- Luton in Bloom - even our roundabouts and central reservations on "A" roads look really picturesque especially in spring / summer.
The pedestrianised areas of town (George Street and Market Hill)
The new Luton Mini-Guide produced by the Borough Council - with Harry the Hatter on the front cover!
Being SO CLOSE to London yet the prices of property, even close to the railway line, is so low! It just doesn't add up! St.Albans is less than 15 mins away yet a one bed flat near the station will cost around £70,000 - in Leagrave or Luton a two bed house can be snapped up for £45,000! Yet St.Albans is full of drunks! Even Bedford or Harlington is more expensive!
- 30 minutes from London and wherever you are in Luton in 10-15 minutes you can be out in open countryside. Some of the nicest countryside in the south east. Stockwood Park is great, and the town centre is getting better all the time.
- The fact that the population can laugh at itself. We know Luton has nothing to recomend itself for, BUT it is still a nice place to live, Honest Guv!!!!
- When i lived in Luton in the 70's there was an exciting music scene, out of which came Paul Young amongst others. Does anybody remember Cat Cool and the Cool Cats, Lamiajanx, Lizarde, Felix etc? There was also Friars aylesbury and the Dunstable Civic. Did i imagine it or were Quantum Jump and half of Jethro Tull (Mick Abrahams certainly) from Luton?
- The cost of housing which is low.
- The best thing about Luton is, of course, Bury Park with the widest variety of shops takeaways etc.
- The best thing about Luton is that the mighty Watford came to town in October 1997 and walloped the hapless hatters 4-0. 10 years - but worth the wait. Up The hornets.
- Nice spots: The top of Warden Hill, Stockwood Park and The Bird and Bush in Bushmead.
- Luton has one of the best town cricket clubs in the country. I should know, I spent most of my childhood Sundays there while my grandfather was out umpiring.
- Whipsnade Zoo - a major outdoor zoo specialising in breeding, is 15 minutes from Luton.
- Leaving Luton and, come to that, the UK.
- Driving upto Dunstable Downs in the middle of the nights - please remember if you are not a police car then drive around teh car park once before stopping
- ARE THERE ANY? MAY BE THE NEW CINEMA COMPLEX AND THE NEWT AND CUCCUMBER PUB WHICH IS PROBABLY THE BEST PUB IN THE TOWN
