  • APOLLO IS BEING RELAUNCHED IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS. I HAVE HEARD THAT IT WILL BE OPEN DURING THE DAY AND WILL SERVE GREAT PINTS AT GREAT PRICES. ALSO FOOD. LETS HOPE IT TURNS OUT TO BE AS GOOD AS THE RUMOURS SUGGEST.
  • Sawyers on a sunday for kareoke sounds cheesy but its always packed, start off at the prince thou for a few drinks on a sunday they got a band too!! king alf always good and busy on every night
  • Loads!
  • king alf, sawyers, halloquins, star, prince, coity, welly, crown, cross in and batoovens
  • Apollo is a great place to go for the best pint in Maesteg. It's new decor is really low key and relaxing. I love the black leather sofas and soft lighting. They have a dance floor in the lounge bar which is free to use any night and the staff are really friendly.
  • the garth inn
  • The Apollo is best for atmosphere and music while you drink with your mates. Staff are terrific - really friendly.
  • `as i said before THE NAVIGATION HOTEL alway a good spot to see the so called "Fresh Faced Crowd" if you Know wat i mean.. Again like i said before The navi Caerau's answer to Crossroads Hotel cause you never know whos sleeping wif who and there always plenty of inset and action even the odd poof like me.
  • the old oak.
  • yeh like the sawyers ahah is your fresh faced try there
  • the star serves up a extra large helping of funky house on a friday
  • The Sawyers, King Alfred
  • If your 15 year old says she's sleeping over her friends house this Friday, I can guarantee she'll be in fluid snogging some prick who's back from uni for the weekend, and has decided to sample some native delicacies. No Glove no Love Kids!!!
  • The King Alf is the best!!!
  • sawyers karoke on friday its ok. fluids good. welly is cheap on sundays
  • A pub crawl down or up the valley is allways recomended, starting at the Railway or the Blan and making your way to the King Alf (and eventually Fluid/Apollo) in fancy dress is known as a pretty good all-day drinking-binge!
  • Used to be The White Hart, remember the live music in the late 70's with Syd the first punk in the valley singing all those songs!!!! I use the Catholic Club now though. Good card school.
  • blaen
  • THE ULTIMATE PUB CRAWL IS THE WELLY, KING ALF QUICKLY POP IN2 THE STAR THEN LEAVE. EVEN THOUGH THE SAWYERS IS EXPENSIVE ITS A NICE PINT WITH DOPEY BAR STAFF TO LIGHTEN YOU UP THEN DOWN TO THE APOLLO
  • There is only one Pub in Maesteg worthy of a good time and that is the BLAEN.If you've never been there you haven't lived yet.
  • Tillers Arms Llangynywyd
  • A good night out without getting abuse would be, the White Hart for a couple of Brians S.A. Then a Guinness at the Catholic Club. Up to The Ship for a G&T, into the Saywers for a few shots, (dont get the expensive crap they offer), into the King Alf and finsh at a slag spot, ops sorry I mean a club. Try and do all this before 2:30p.m to aviod the local pill heads.
  • People Work In FACTORIES All Week And Drink On The Weekend To Forget That They've Been Working In A Factory All Week And That They Will Be Doing The Same Next Week. Avoid The Pubs AT aLL Costs They Are A Heaven For Violence.Misery Upoon Misery
  • THE NAVIGATION HOTEL FOR GOOD MUSIC,BOOZE,SMOKE,GIRLS AND MUSIC!! WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT?
  • the Garth Inn is a top pub, filled with pleasant people in a welcoming environment
  • The Bird, The King Alfred, The Star, The British Legion, 7777, Maesteg harlequins,
  • Star, welly, Bird, etc!!
  • Bird in hand almost dead due to the stiff competiotin from fluid`s nightclub Fluid the best placve if you want to see a certain girl swinging her baby around in the dance floor!!!!
  • The Bird In Hand - Thursdays, Rock Night. Free entry, which means it's empty untill 11, when the other pubs close. 5-6 of Maestegs rock fans go, on average. Genrally noticable - the ones joining in with the singing.
  • Maesteg Catholic Club's main features are the barmen: Chris, John and Sean. They will entertain you at no cost and for as long as you desire. If you've seen the recent film Coyote Ugly this will be the male eqivalent!
  • Star on a friday the saturday Dj is a wanker who cant mix- CHeck out a Friday!-Good music good poeps!!!!!
  • star/king alf are the best pubs??????????
  • The Star - full of Roid boys - don't go there!! The King Alf - Top pub, good atmosphere but small The saywers - Nice pub- food now available, good beer but damn expensive!! The Bird - The only place after 11, it's okay if you want a girl with no grass on the pitch. The Prince - Roll em up in 'ere - blow city The malsters - clean, good beer, nice pool table, nice atmosphere
  • loads e.g king alfred The star Beethoven
  • I spent a short time living in Maesteg a few years ago, and I can thoroughly recommend the Sawyers - a real friendly atmosphere.
  • The Cross Inn, Cwmfelin, Maesteg - a brilliant place for a quiet pint, a natter and a game of pool. A fine selection of ales, good company and friendly bar-staff. Ask for Gill or Dai. It'll change your opinion of Maesteg. Not everywhere's as bad as the Bird In Hand - honest!
  • The Cross Inn Cwmfelin.Completely refurbished and has terrific beer. Good quiz on Tuesday nights. (Bottles of wine as prizes.Nic place to take your lady, youbg or old.
  • The King Alf rocks!
  • Lots of them shut early over the Easter bank Holiday because of "drunkenness" and violence. If you go out in Maesteg town centre, prepare yourself for a glassing.
  • The crown is a good spot all week long on a sunday they have a band usually it's Wayne Richards band play some good shit, you might of heard of his son Luke Richards he is just entering the Neath team.
  • Well, what *else* can be said about the Bird, Star, King Alf, Prince, Cow, Garn, Legion, etcetera. Nothing. Well, apart from the Bird and the Star: I have read many horror stories, and nothing compares to the horrific brutality of the Bird and Star on a Friday/Saturday night. Be prepared, because of some rugby boy sees you eyeing up his bird, he'll punch y' bloody head in, like. And no mistake.
  • Cool places to drink The Star, The Bird, Red Cow.
  • The main scene in the weekends is the King Alfred and the Star. Although if you want to hear yourself think try quieter pubs such as the Malsters. Not much point looking for talent as there isn't really any in Maesteg.
  • I have been in all the pubs and I recommend The Malsters! This is a fantastic pub. I like this pub because it used to be quite a roudy place way back in the 60s. It was spottlessly clean and sold great cider.
