  • Izumi 'All you can eat oriental Buffet' based within Madison Heights lunch from £6.50 12 noon til 2.30pm and Evening Buffet 6pm - 10.30 only £12.00 per person children rate available
  • iceland is a dark horse, take a look inside mate, cheap as chips
  • Avoid all indian take aways...or look around the back first!!!
  • Try "Bahn Fai" for truly superb Thai food.
  • star steeple has great lunch time specials oap 2 courses 3.50 the steak menu in the eves is very good cooked by the boss!!!!!
  • The Lock, Heybridge Basin
  • the best place to get food in the whole of maldon is that tiny little shellfish kiosk on the prom but blink and you might just miss the stingy portion that the realy realy old lady gives you...
  • The best place I visited in Maldon for food was the Pie and Mash shop located at the bottom end of the towm. It is a traditional family run business offering good cheap food and friendly service. Their ice cream was good too !!
  • mcdonalds,whimpy ,prince's chipy
  • My wonderful man was on a recent visit to Maldon from Leeds and being a 'Curry Expert' told me that the best indian he had ever had in Essex was from the Vindaloo take away in The Street, Heybridge. It tasted wonderful to me too and what do I know about curries...:-)
  • The marvellous Malones which is probably the best thing about Maldon food because it's American-style (for all those who can't afford a holiday to the States) Run by nice people for a change! (Yes I was as astonished as you to discover they do exist in Maldon) The rest is shit! Too many fish + chip places.
  • There is hundreds of indians and chinesse restraunts theres even an indian restraunt in an old petrol garage for fuck sake
  • This has to be the take away capital of Essex. Lots of Chinese - try Lantern House at the junction of Mill Road, Church Street and High Street. Lots of Indians. Also great restaurants - Malone's is great, especially the cocktails! Or if you're feeling flush and don't mind a wee drive, Chigborough Lodge near Goldhanger is fab!
  • CAN I JUST SAY THAT I TOTALLY AGREE THAT 'OUR PLAICE' FISH&CHIP SHOP IS THE BEST CHIP SHOP EVER!I REALLY MISS THAT PLACE.IN FACT I THINK ITS THE ONLY THING I MISS ABOUT MALDON!
  • Need some classy food, Francines up the top of the town is pretty good. Otherwise April 13th is very good with reasonable prices and excellent fresh food lovingly prepared by Hawksey. The sunday breakfast fryup is just the thing as hangover cures go.
  • The Palace is the best chinese, Curry nights is the best indian,
  • Wicked Kebab shop as long as you don't bump into any Children on the Prom. The Raj was OK, but I like 'The Curry Nights' and Maldon Tandori for a Curry.
  • Chinese, Indian, Fish and Chips and Pie and Mash are all available at various points around the town.
  • Call them restaurants, take aways, whatever, but in fact they are merely meeting points for drunks and sphychopaths.
  • There must be a dozen fast food shops in the East End of town - Indian, Chinese, Turkish, Vietnamese. I'm told Maldon Kebab House in Mill Road does a good kebab, and their humus is brilliant. Our Plaice in Wantz Road is best for Fish and Chips, but closes early. George's (F&C) in Mill Road does huge portions. The Raj (Indian), Mill Road, has a good reputation, although I usually take out from the Moonlight in the High Street.
