Dancers from across the Globe will descend on Cheshire to compete at the 'UK Star Studded Championships held at Northwich Memorial Hall on the 1st,2nd & 3rd of August. This is the first time this venue will be used to hold this event, the Saturday evening includes a Modern Jive & West Coast Swing Freestyle. The competition for the first time will have a Modern Jive category, 'UK Modern Jive ProAm' Competition, and a 'Dance with a stranger' Competition. I am looking for a Walter James Foad 1887-1960 Married to a Florence Hawkins in 1922, had two sons Wilfred Edward 1924-1991 died 6th may in Faversham. Married to a Dorothy Lush in 1949. and Walter James Foad1922-? Married an Eileen F Morris in 1943. I am also looking for info on a Hubert Henry Foad born 1890 died 1970 in the sittingbourne area. He married ???Lait in 1920. He had two children Ke nneth J Foad married to ???Botting in 1947 and Irene M Foad born 1926 married ???Robb in 1943. Could anyone help me to find out some information on the Foad Family of Whitstable. I have traced my family back to a Stephen Browning Foad born 1797 and he and most of his descendants lived at Waterloo Cottages in Waterloo Place. Would this be Waterloo Road and where the rest homes are? Also my great grandfather had a red wooden house on the wasteland at the back of Copeland house, which was demolished 1956. My Grandfather was harry Foad His Father was Harry Foad 1907-1982, Married To Hilda Mable Chapman. His Father was also a Harry Foad 1875-1942 married to a Fanny Jane Long. On June 3 1923 he was born Jack Ottoway and was brought up by James Cordery somewhere near Maidstone and they later moved to Cranbrook. Jack was in the Home Guard as a boy before he was old enough (having told a white lie about his age) to join The Navy in the War. Does anyone know any of the Ottoway family (or even the Cordery family) who could help trace Jack's roots. His never met his mother or father and was not formally adopted. James Cordery was a market gardner and a very tiny man. he died in the early 60's in Cranbrook His wife was a large lady- she died may years before- possibly in the 40's. Nothing is known of Jack's mum except she was not married at the time of his birth. She went to London to give birth. Was she perhaps hops picking in Kent and had a brief relationship with Jack's dad (who continued to pay for his keep all the time the Cordery's brought him up) Would be glad of any useful information. ... more >> Reply
