The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Market Harborough.
Pubs
- Shoulder of mutton, great bowden has recently been taken over, serving real food and real ale 7 days a week, live bands, pub quiz every Sunday, karaoke, FREE pool and jukebox every Sunday with warm and friendly staff every time you go :0)
- The Bell, newly refurbished and doing live bands most Friday nights. The Peacock, closed. Welland Lodge, closed.
- Nags
- THE SQUARE BAR IS WICKED AND THE ATMOSPHERE IS BANGING AT THE WEEKEND. THE KINGS HEAD IS A DUMP THOUGH AND DONT ALLOW ANY DRUNKEN FRIVOLITY!
- Royalist. Crazy name, crazy pub.
- The Sugar loaf, during the day it has the atmousphere of a soup kitchen.
- errrm the square
- no too many!
- I like the sugar loaf or Cafe enigma for lunch and drinking. In the summer the square is nice because you can sit outside on the errrm square. The village inn used to do (and possibly still does??)2 for 1 cocktails but havn't been there since I was in the 6th form (but that was only a year or so ago!)
- the talbot want a quick fix youve got it oh and say hi to the bouncers
- The Red Cow - NOT scruffy, just refuses to look like a pub chain. Friendly local staff and clientele. The absolute BEST beer in town.
- ENIGMA--"one of them new fangled bars" in the centre of town, on the lutterworth road. long bar, beautiful wheatbeer on draught. perch on high stools by the window or slump into big comfy leather couches.good varied menu. open all day. newspaper rack on wall. my favourite.
- The countryman - great bowden - many a drunken boxing day
- Sugarloaf for those first few cheap drinks and definatly end at the enigma.
- All pretty scary. Peacock = kids, Sugar Loaf = cheap and crowded, 3 Swans = the Rotary Club, Market Tavern = vomit and violence, Royalist = fear, the Bell = dark and messy, Red Cow = someone's front room, King's Head = OK, Nag's Head = men only. You get the idea.
- sugar loaf is really good. try the village inn for buy one get one free on saturday nights. the kings head is worth a visit, you can get a pitcher of redbull with 8 shots of vodka for £10-split into teams and see who can drink the fastest. also you can play pool, jenga, cards and connect 4 there-especially fun after a few drinks!
- Not a bad selection really and many do have a remarkably fresh faced crowd.

- Hi I am the Land Lady of The Red Cow Hotel Market Harborough. I would just like to put who ever right on the description of my PUB!!!!!!
Town centre award winning pub recently refurbished serving 6 yes 6 traditional ales from 3.6% to 5.2%. Now serving traditional pub grub at very reasonable prices.
Now print that instead of the incorrect facts that you had before I dare you!!!
Take
Gill Walker M.B.I.I.
- Sadly, the much maligned Talbot has demised so you can't get a decent pint of Guiness anywhere. The Red Cow is in new hands, but I'm told the Pedigree is still half decent. For a Talbot-esque atmos go to The Greyhound in Little Bowden, if you want something a bit more classy then try the Swans in High Street. Otherwise Suga Loaf is a winner - cheap, decent real ale & a reasonable atmosphere
- The Peacock is now out of fashion with revellers going to the cheap and gossip filled Sugarloaf. The Square is small but very modernish for a town of Harborough's reputation. The Freemasons alas is with us no longer and is replaced by a very Gay sounding 'The Village' which is reputedly a sports bar!
If you intend to go out in this town check out the Kings Head and the Three Swans.
- Sugarloaf, Weatherspoons pub = Cheap beer !
- The red cow serves original beers, but is something out of a american werewolf film. The three swans is a top hotel pub and is renowened for a spanish waiter haunting the pub after he was burned alive,so thee ledgend has it.
- The town won't be the same again since the six packs closed but theres still plenty of pubs to make it a good night out. No dress codes at any as far as i know.
- The Peacock is well worth a visit...at the corner of St.Mary's Road and Northampton Rd.
- New pub The Sugarloaf for good cheap bear and spirits.
- Plenty including the Cherry Tree, Boscoes, and the Bell.
- Red Cow - half way up High St. Small, scruffy but good.
- Loads of pubs , about 15 , not bad for a town this size. Why not organize a family outing trying to cover them all in one day.
- Various types in MH - The Peacock is the liveliest. The Cherry Tree, just outside the town centre is an old style pub - whitewashed exterior walls, thatched roof etc. Beer is good here.
