Buskers, Street Entertainers
  • not so much as an entertainer but the big issue guy whos been outside sainsburys ever since ive been in marlow act like ur interested in buyin nd talk 2 him about it nd den open ur wallet nd say u aint got any money he gets realy angry
  • The greatest intellect to come out of Marlow, Dr. Paul Spice, has just published his latest book, The Watchers. This is a brief description of the book; The Da Vinci Code is a diversion, a subterfuge intended to deflect attention from an even more ancient secret -- an enigma first discovered by the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt and kept hidden for millennia by a secret society dating back more than four thousand years. For all that time, the secret has remained safely hidden, guarded by its keepers. However, human knowledge is not static and the dim outlines of that which was lost are even now dimly perceived on the frontiers of science. For modern physics speaks of many universes composed of ten dimensions, each rolled up into its own subatomic space, isolated from all the others by a wall of impenetrable space-time. Yet, the same experiments that describe these tiny self-contained universes also hint that a disastrous rip in the fabric of space-time is imminent, that the calamity prophesied by the ancient Ruler-Priests of the Upper and Lower Nile is about to come true. It is to prevent this calamity predicted by both pharaoh and physicist that the secret society was formed, and for which it has been waiting, watching, and preparing. On the inevitable day when time contends with no time, when order turns to chaos, and when humanity totters on the brink of extinction, there will be but one organization equipped to save the world, The Watchers. • The old milkman is a great character - I think he still goes round collecting bottles and such like! To be honest there are quite a good selection of "interesting" people in certain sections of Marlow - makes great viewing!
  • During the "late night shopping evening" during the Christmas period, the High Street is bristling with various entertainment, along with a gaggle of Young Enterprise students from nearby schools trying to sell you things. Somtimes the two above are combined
  • Watch out for Rigsby - he's the mental patient who walks about talking to himself, pushing his shopping trolley full of cardboard boxes and shaking his walking stick at everyone. He's apparently quite wealthy, though I wouldn't marry him for his money!!
  • richard rigsby provides the towns main entertainment. he gets trolleys from waitrose nd pushes them round town fillin them up wiv boxes. quite funny bt dnt get 2 close 2 him, he mite hit u wiv his walkin stick!
  • Street Entertainment? The (High) Street IS the entertainment. Sit outside the Chequers on the High Street and watch it all go by. Particularly entertaining are the boy racers in their souped-up Metros, Escorts, Golfs, etc. who've come down from Wycombe to drive relentlessly up and down the 100m High Street all day playing "Rick Astley" (so they tell me) at full blast. Having said that, if you're seriously into your cars, the saddled-with-cash locals provide plenty to look at in terms of the latest machinery, and some fantastically restored classics.
  • I sing awfully outside the pubs usually late on a Satuirday night! Does that count?
  • Pat Kani - Drunken man who sits in Liston Court all day singing Tom Jones. It's Hilarious.
