Skateboarding Spots
- Marlow Skate park down by the river
- the best place in marlow to skate is by far the skatepark but that isnt to say it has its problems. they opened the park early cus it had just passed its safety test but they opened it in winter. this may not seem like a problem but some local residents had complained about it impacting on the view fromtheir houses, so they surrounded the park in a wall of mud. unfortunatly being opened in winter the grass wont grow untill spring. the park was also built smaller than originaly intended so the run ups are a bit small. apparently they are bulding a bowl as well but i dont have any more info on that. liston court also has a five set and some very small banks. court gardens has a 4 set wive a crap run up.
- The Marlow Bottom Mini is no more, it was burnt down by chavs
i guess, some time ago.
Re the proposed skatepark facility in Higginson park. This is on
track So far the consultations have been done with locals and
some outline proposals presented, basically 2 sets of various
quarters or flat banks facing each other with a grind box and a
drive way between, This is now at the stage of having had the
soil samples done and the results back are favorable. I dont
have a time frame but the budget has been there for nearly 2
years. Personally i have been pettitioning for a Bowl but the
Council are not entertaining it. The park will be concrete "chav
proof" and way down past the cricket pitch on the right as you
face the river. I have extensive updates from WDC on progress
on the sk8m8 site here this also includes the Wycombe and
flackwell/ Stokenchurch sites
- Not sure, but apparently Marlow Town Council are planning to build a full skate ramp area in the coming months!
- i htink everyone is forgetting the guide's place.... thers a 5 set and a little waxed curb.. theres also some conrete blocks tha are waxed you can put the togwether and do a boardslide if u want.... stairs has a small run up and a small run down. dont skate inborlase they call the police and they will fine you £200
- If you turn right at the first corner (not going over the bridge), from the high street, you'll go down the road by Higgson Park leading to Pound Lane. But right at the beginning of the turning there are some public toilets by a car park. Out side the toilets are some ledges that a waxed and are good to practise your noseslides or 50/50's. Happy skating!!
- Court gardens is ok but some crazy guy who lives in that little shack came out and hacked up one of the cubs wit an axe. there is still a waxed curb its on a slope, legendary! be careful when you skate too close to the centre cos' some guy called Nick will ban you for life so just tell him that you'll shove your dick in his face. In the old brewery there some cool banks but some idiot put a rail there so you cant skate it. The five set there is good but you have to watch out for the rumble strip so get some ply or something to put over it.
- Marlow......well it is better to catch the train to Maidenhead and hit the skatepark there but if you want to skate in Marlow there are a few spots but they are not very good. Court Garden's has waxed curbs, some walls and gaps. There is a ledge outside the toilets on Pound Lane but that is virtually unskateable now but if you want you can wax it up and then skate it. On the other side of Pound Lane opposite Court Gardens is a well hidden 5 set, a 3 set, a covered car park with a cool automatic door. Opposite the library is a 4 set, with a bad run up but can easily be done and in the garden at the bottom of it are some walls and ledges. Check out Liston Court with a 3 and 2 set with super smooth ground, there are some benches there as well that are cool. Check out some of the schools, Borlase has a 3 set, St Peters has nice moveable benches so you can stick them in a line and a 3 set, Sandygate has a couple of 5 sets, most primary schools in Marlow have a super smooth playground surface which is nice for flatland. But by far the best place to skate in Marlow is the Industrial estate, I would love to tell you where everything is but I want to keep some places secret because they just need to be kept that way. If you are desperate for some more just ask any skaters who you see hanging around.
- marlow isnt that good a place 2 sk8 in bt ther are sum spots. court garden is alrite, has sum nice walls 2 ollie near the entrance but the bastards kick u out. try up the flats opposite court garden, ther is a 5 set ther wiv knobbly bits at da top, get sum stuff from the skip at the bottom nd put it ova it. try the skools, they r all ok. opposite the library is a 4 set bt it has a small run up. try the industrial estate, plenty of empty offices, plenty that will kick u out at evry oppurtunity. the ledge on pound lane outside the toilets is nice if u wax it up bt the bmxers get pissed off if they catch u waxin it. in liston court are a couple of benches nd a 3 nd 2 set wiv really nice ground. near waitrose is a 2 set nd a wall u can ollie, its nt the best bt its alrite.im sure thers more bt i cant rememba.lol
- I think that everyone is forgetting the doctors park for skating, lovely road surfaces, waxed curbs etc. Probably more of a place for beginners, but I had some good sessions there
- court gardens carpark and marlow bottom skate ramp
- marlow bottom has a mini ramp
behind queens rd is a waxed curb and stuff plus theres to guys with 1/4 pipes in their garden they might let u have a skate (the house with a red fence)
if you wanna have a laaugh skate there for a bit and an old man and women and a lady who we haven,t found out wheres she from but her names jane tell her you pulled her fence down shell call the police but they won't come because she calls em to often
york rd. at the top waxed curb very small
industrial estate banks etc.
causualty at the doctors house 3 set and gap
- Ha ha. I take it nobody has mentioned the little quarter pipe in Marlow Bottom. It's actually very good. A group of sk8ter kids in Marlow Bottom spent all of their paper round money from an entire year to have it built. Friendly bunch of kids, don't mind people using it. Don't vandalise it though. There's plenty of kappa kids in marlow, with a hatred for sk8ters, who have tried to burn down the ramp, and cover it in oil and break all the pli. Nevertheless, it's worth a skate and the local kids are all sound. If you see the Rud-ers trying to break it, break them!
- Court Gardens - Pound Lane - Waxed curbs, nice surface, bastard people who work in the leisure centre and tell you to go away. Pound lane toilet ledges - Waxed Ledges "The Chain" - The run up stops, there's a 75cm gap and then a knee height chain. Very nice gap! (By the bridge) Liston Court - Steps (2 and 3), nice surface, two waxed benches. Doctor's Surgery - V. nice surface, countless waxed curbs, flower bed gaps, etc. Pretty shite really.
