Pubs
- The Railway Inn in Meols is NOW UNDR NEW MANAGEMENT. the new mine hosts are Mark and Sheena. They are great hosts and wish to welcome all customers to the "Raily"
There is also a new food menu which offers great value meals and food is served all day. Unfortunately it has to be said that the Jukebox has gone and been replaced by a cd player. The Raily is still a dead lively pub though and Andy the DJ is still playing the music on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Raily is Defo a great place to have a bevvy and some good nosh in
- LATEST NEWS.. The Railway Inn in Meols has just been voted Top Pub and along with a Trophy, Neil & Donna Johnson (mine hosts) have just returned from an all inclusive freebie in Mauritius courtesy of the brewery. Deserves a mention doesn't it and you will get your free pint or two, or three
- The Railway. Now this is it, the place to be seen and to be entertained.Fantastic Juke Box (Rod Stewart galore) The beers not bad either. The brewery has just spent a few bob on the place and boy did it need it.The result, SUPERB, what with Leather Sofas to slide onto and tasteful decor to match. The bar area must be the biggest around and the staff are Brilliant, always happy and even drink there on their days off (the sign of a good pub is when the staff spend their time off there.)Neil and Donna are 'Mine Hosts' and are a really friendly couple who deserve success, especially for the time and effort they put in.Neil fancies himself as a bit of a singer too and is always 'up for it' when the mike is around. There are themed nights such as Skoolies Nites, Cowboys & Cowgirls, Grease Nite, etc. Here I would have to say that every night is a weekend, although Fridays are particularly buzzin and rockin with the Karaoke competition. My favourite night has to be Monday, as it it when all the Lads meet up for a few bevvies, the talk is mainly about Football (Everton of course), Sex and whatever!!! Neil (The landlord) joins in with all the banter, on our side of the bar. There is also a Quiz night on Mondays which is run by Eugene (I think thats how his name is spelt). After the Quiz, Eugene has another piece of entertainment which believe me you have to be there to see (and don,t forget you get nothin for a pair at the railway). The Monday night 'crew' members are myself along with Neil, Rob, Robbie, Rob, Paul, Nigel, Stan the local builder (if you need any work doing, then he is Stan the Man). Other locals are the Parry's, Mark, Steve and dad John who have all got two thigs in common, drink and Liverpool FC (well they did bang their heads at birth). I must also mention Amsterdam Mick (should have been a Blue) and Champ who treat the Railway as the 19th Hole after their golfing exploits. There is ten to eleven, Ken and Tube, along with the real ale 'experts' Bill and Nigel. Steve the TRFC supporter who doesn't miss a game is another regular. All we Apologies to anyone I have left out. Oh, by the way. The food is really good and is served all day up till about 8.30pm. Try it you WILL like it.
