  • Its next to denaby so that does make mexborough look way better than it is
  • The sense of community amongst the 'more mature residents' (i.e. 30+). Remembering times when we could have milk delivered without druggies nicking it and we could leave washing on the line over-night. Aye lad, them were t'days.
  • some of the people who care yet theres not that many now
  • A living example of the irrepresibility of the human spirit in the face of adversity. The school - I don't care what anyone says it has some of the finest teachers I've ever encountered.
  • The sense of humour of the inhabitants. Church Street is good (even better before they chopped those two old conker trees down.)
  • the best things are the big tits in mexborough
  • The People - talent everywhere from shy guitar players to tortured genius...
  • The things I have read on your site seem to me to do a disservice to Mexborough. It was constantly in the top ten of unemployment black-spots throughout the nineteen eighties and has since remained poor. Clearly, it's local economy can't support exciting shops, especially since the whole South Yorkshire area, as far as local shopping is concerned, has been bled dry by Meadowhall. Almost all local women do their shopping their, so clothes shops struggle. The poverty of the area thus structures the whole of the central area. What shops there are tend to cater for the lower end of the retail market, if they didn't, they'd go bust. But the people are great, not like the southerners who stare at you if you haven't got the latest clothes and consumer electronics.
  • The surrounding countryside - easy to reach and very nice in Denaby Woods or up High Melton (although a lack of a shop or pub up theer) and anywheer is better than flat and boring south manchester.
  • in life r free! Its gotta be the atha with its large variety of youthful gangstas
  • Mexborough Cricket Club, the only team in South Yorkshire where the players are older than the umpires.
  • The spirit of the people. Very friendly!
  • Pastures lodge for having a play area for the kids.
  • Near by Doncaster has the cheapest prostitutes in the whole of the UK.
  • The people.. by far the proudest people on gods earth!
  • Friendly people, the local football on sunday mornings
  • The bench by Adwick Rd roundabout, where there are young girlies permanently resident. Sunday nights in the neighbouring village of Swinton. The canal, for throwing yourself into Mexborough Cricket Club winning. Me Beer. More beer.
  • The people. I was there for 3 months and the people are so friendly, once you can understand what they are saying
