Cinemas
  • No cinemas, I think there was one years and years ago but it closed down. Even if there was one who would want to come to Mexborough to watch a film anyway - the sad and desperate probably.
  • woruopir
  • otpweuwy
  • ruytewpt
  • rteiwywi
  • tiwpteye
  • tiwpteye
  • tiwpteye
  • tiwpteye
  • tiwpteye
  • you have to catch 2 busses to see a film these days not like queing up to the mont bus stop to see greece
  • I prefer Swinton baths its the closest as there are none in mex.
  • i see the corner pocket could not stay the corner pocket for long the ghost of the majestic as come back to its old place yippppeeeeeeee
  • saturday matinee at the majestic flea pit,we got the chance to feel wendy deakins boobs or does any one remem debbie reynolds lol.
  • As a kid, me and my bros & sisters used to go to the Majestic to see the Sat Mat, usually Flash Gordon then the film, then home for a good fry up at tea time. It's the Corner Pocket now but i still have fond memories.
  • Mexborough couldnt fit a cinema in it if it tried!! you have to go to Donny or Meadowhall!!
  • i worked at the last one in mexborough and we had the sound of music on for 6 weeks full houses most nights but i go mad when i see julie andrews coming over that hill night after night but yes you have to go out of town now or stay in with a video
  • No cinema (there was, it's now a dodgy snooker club), no bowling, no skating. NO NOTHING
  • whats a cinema
  • Forget it.
  • I worked the cinema at mexborough everyone used the place they should have left it open it was somewere to go
  • There used to be four Cinemas in Mexborough, not three as stated. They were: Majestic, Empire, Royal, and The Oxford. When I was an urchin we used to go see Hoot Gibson and others at The Oxford for a penny after buying a bag of biscuit dust at the Market Place which was near the Oxford cinema.
  • Cinemas? - would I travel miles to see a film there? - I'd travel miles from there to see a film!
  • Corner Pocket stands on the foundations of the Majestic Cinema. I still remember seeing Mary Poppins there though!
  • Mexborough has nothing to entertain the young people of today, it used to have 3 cinemas, now it has 00 cinema's. it has no 10-pin bowling, ne laser quest, you name it, Mexborough Hasn't got it!!!
  • Nope, no cinemas :( They did have one, once upon a time, but it was changed into a restaraunt! Boo Hoo! - But most people would rather zoom off to meadhowhall [in Sheffield] or Doncaster now anyway.
