• i remember a time when the corner bag was the place to be on a friday nite and the canal bar was the place to be on a sunday altho most frisky couples would just end up down the canal rather then at the bar.

• dont go to the corner pocket unless you have the broadest yorkshire accent ever because they will kill you. and dont wear clothes that are mildly different or trendy, this is also a grave mistake.
• Mexborough is only a few miles from wath, where the people are much nicer, making for a better night out.
• GET DOWN TO THE MINERS WITH LOCAL RESIDENT DJ RICKY "WET-DOG" PLAYING THE LATEST HOUSE GARAGE N RNB. HE SPINS HIS DISCS EVERY SAT NIGHT. ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED UP N COMING DJ'S IN YORKSHIRE.

• Athaletic club-(hey Iv'e got 2 know somat!)
• Clubs, mexborough has a big lack of them, well theres mickey b's which opens and closes down every 3 months, basement bar (under new managment) may be getting a late licence very soon.
• The Main street club puts on some good turns, but i prefer the Falcon, nice and quiet, no trouble at all, AND they have a good Sunday get together, AND it's near to me, but that's not why i'm saying this, (HONEST)
• The Basement Bar, nice friendly little place, run by the rajji's of mexborough, great for a lock in too (sush i didnt tell you that).
• Working men's clubs. Now that's where it's at. Try the Catholic Club or the Railway club (although whether that's in Mexboro or Swinton is anyone's guess)
• Corner pocket and henrys
• Stay clear of Henly's downstairs, remakably seedy and dodgy goings on, Corner Pocket downstairs is a good laugh on a friday, loadsa young slappers knocking about so who knows what will happen, also good for bumping into old school mates.
• The atha has to be the place to be on a friday nights, it gets really packed in there (mostly of people under 18) but there is a few groups of the older age who now go to the atha on a friday nights (most of em usually go to the boy and barell or the red lion)
• back in the good old 70s the drum in denaby was the best
• Brickyard Club for Friday night Soul and piss up's (sadly now a Jova Cult Club)
• The atha is THE place to be and if you are into the odd spot of cradle snatching then you really cant beat it!
• I think the Empress has opened again, with Ricky scott DJ'ing, go and see him in action.
• Only decent dance joint is the CORNER BAG - if the thought of 'jail bate' dont scare you too much, then even the local village idiot can pull, beers 'palletable', musics ok, just a shame about all the school skirt thats there
• No clubs as such. People keep buying the Empress and trying to open it but it either goes bankrupt or the police shut it down due to fighting.
