• mexb' is a place that can only be appreciated if you have has time away from it, fair enough it's not the greatest place in the world but you have to remember the grass is not always greener on the other side. I am proud to be a yorkshire lass from mexb' and i have a sneaking surspision that other people are proud too.

• from me growing up in mexborough and starting my first job at £4 19 shillings a week at the majestic cinama i have seen the way the town what was a great place being use as a dump theres no way back now i know but we should all make a stand and stop the town from dieing
• what are your lot whinging about, I committed a double whammie. I moved here 23years ago from a shit hole called Gainsborough in Lincolnshire and what happened? This place decided to go into decline, the nob heads and junkies and now asylum seekers decided to make this their rats nest. Its now got to the stage where I dont feel safe walking the streets.One person had the right idea, nuke the place, but let me know when so I can get the hell out of here.

• I was born on Cliff Street which was at the bottom of Glasshouse Lane(now demolished) The old Glasshouse which manufactured glass bottles went bankrupt after WW 1, I think it was owned by the Baron family. We kids used to play in the derelict buildings and dig for marbles as marbles were then used in pop bottles as stoppers.
• Reading comments, Mexborough has been slagged off as a dump and not a nice place to live. I have lived in Europe, New York, Boston, Texas, Oklahoma but I still return to Mexborough...why? All places have there good and bad points but all round Mexborough is a great place to live and South Yorkshire was just voted the friendliest place in Europe!
• Mexborough takes about 2 minutes to drive through along the one small single carriage road. Once the Earth centre opens, I expect this figure to rise to about 2 hours. It would be quicker to walk, even if you only had one leg.
• I know it's a dump but I loved it and hope I can go back sometime
