Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
  • The Ash is the only place to check out decent shit nowadays!!
  • Start afresh....31/03/10
  • the best bar in montrose is the market armes
  • 29/5/2007)The Links can be ok sometimes and.....uhh....thats it....
  • Sharkeys is bra on a hot day got the beers garden now, market cant wait for it to open up again!!! got no where to go!! star scary at the weekend esp. if ur sober!!! but okay durin the week at night, ash bar looks good but can lack in atmosphere busbys is arite on a thurs n sun but the mirror on the roof is wierd at the weekend is fulla ppl tht are full o shite (or themselves woteva u prefer) and folk who think that the only colour around is black, abbotts gd got a beer garden gd for th fitba vaults WAS gd now borin horse gd depending on who u want 2 c sally if ur over fourteen ull need id 2 prove tht ur young enuf albert pretty crap n well thts bout it
  • For a quiet drink the Ash Bar is quite nice, although on a Saturday they usually try to put on some form of entertainment such as 'bouncy boxing'- boxing in a bouncy arena with massive inflatable boxing gloves...good if you're into that sort of thing! Links night club, now known as 'The Party Zone' is good for 18 to 22 year ols'.
  • Montrose Folk Club is getting better what with kevin montgomery on 28th december...ace!
  • Ha ha Montrose has a pretty poop nightlife although the locals seem to think it's great! Those who go to Busbys, Sharkeys and the on to the "great" Links EVERY weekend - can they not get a life and realise elsewhere there are better bars and clubs?
  • Well, the legendary CLUB LIGGINS!!!! now that was a pad an a half... oH the memorys of lying there like a buckled mess after 2 weeks on the carnage train to the moon... doesn't get any better than that! Leaskie boys house is fuckin magic too... Utter chaos pretty much everywhere u go... No Clubs worth metioning though, unless u are into tight t-shirts and lady boys x x x mj
  • Oh joy the Star its such a warming place! You go in with 4 pairs of socks on and a pair of shoes you always come out bare feeted the carpets that sticky but I have to admit it..its a fair old laugh! Busbys....its just boring....sharkies....you cant even get near the bar oh the Duke! When you are bladdered its a good place to stop and sing like shite!
  • clubs in montrose you must be havin a larf. theres the links (its poop) busbys if u go in there ure likley to stick to the floor and never come out. the star emmm...... not much to say bout the star. go in on a friday nite ul come out with somthing on ure arm wot i dont know. the market fine if ure a poof. the albert fine if your under 18. the vaults, everyone says its the best pub in town but i think its small cramped and full of old men(some tidy barmaids though) the hiller best pub for miles nice birds nice crowd sometimes takes a bit to get the barstaffs attention but bootch dingle keeps u entertained whilst trying to do so.
  • The Links Hotel in Montrose is trying to now cater for the wants and needs of a younger generation. Not only is it seen in Angus as an excellent centre for both Jazz and Classical music, bringing you a host of the world's top's bands and artists, but over the coming months will be bringing some of the top DJs in the world of House Music to play at the venue, through the new night 'Fly By Night', every second Saturday. Opposite Saturday nights will continue with Chart and Funk Classic with resident DJ Derek, and he will be back every Wednesday playing all the latest RnB hits. Bling-Bling!
  • THE STAR BAR AND THE LINKS
  • there all crap and busbys think they can charge 2 pound to get in and wots worse is that the links is 6 quid after 11pm and lets face it nobody goes there before 11.
  • The Links, lol, what a dump. Full of guys aged 20-25 (a few saddos over that age) luring over the remarkably young ladies, ahem! the bouncers are useless, letting many under 18's in and the music is rubbish. it's only full because there's no-where else to go.
  • Utter shite, the Links was a better place before they tried to do it up, the days when your feet stuck to the carpet. Regarding age, well your to old at 20 to be there.
  • The links is crap. The 'bouncers' as they like to call themselves are rude, six quid to get into the hole(rip off), then they charge you an arm and a leg for your drink, you never get into use the bloody toilet cos theres always about ten of them howling and greeting and they stink of pish anyway,as for the music its same old, the dancefloor is tiny and thers always some idiot making an arse of themselves, and as for 'NO ID MEANS NO ENTRY' thats a joke!!! its like a school disco. And after saying all that im ashamed to admit, i still go!
  • links- shockin tho!
  • The Links is cool for what it is - a school disco! I'm only 22 yet feel like the oldest person there! How hard is it to ask for id??? Let us who are over 18 enjoy being just that, make those little brats wait their turn!
  • The LINKS! HAHA, what a joke, the bouncers are thick as mince which is shown by who the let in and id! For example, being 16 and having all my friend who are 16 we get in no hassle yet they go and id people who are obviously over-18, gid bouncers!
  • The Links/Zone. Shambolic attempt at nightlife, this "club" is an atrocious travesty of human creation. the bouncers are evil the clientele are dumb wannabe neds and half of these would look more at home watching teletubbies!
  • Links hotel you get a dance there @ times
  • STAR HOTEL. Brilliant music Friday & Sat, slighty cheesy but fun. DJ Craig and new addition Lesley Cox (trained by ex resident DJ Mike Norrie) spinning ur fav tunes.
  • The Links which without a shadow of a doubt is the most overpriced bag of shit its basically a knocking shop and the music is atrocies
  • The only club if you can call it that is the links as is formally known.
  • The Links is basicly the only club in town, with most drunks heading there for just before 11 where they can get in for cheap. And if you're with a local you'll probably be dragged to a party in the middle of nowhere after the links and end up walking home...cold. Although in Arbroath there is the Glam which is amazing!!!1/2 an hour away its great. Not to mention Flicks which is getting done up,but will be back soon and better than ever.
  • Links is supposed to be a club, but you'll feel old if your over 20.
  • The Links "ZONE" ahem... nightclub. If youre entertained by overpriced entry, OVERPRICED drink (!!!!!), music from a school disco, & uncomfortable glares from the "door staff", then this is your place. If not then stay well away. People only go because it is the only place in the town. They charge what they like & treat people like they want, because they have a monopoly on the youth market.
  • CLUBS singular or plural.... "I wish" as always the only "club" is the Links as if by some unwriiten Montrose law the night club ajoined to the links hotel(or whatever guise it is parading under know is patronised by kids.By 25 you start to feel old by 30 you get embarresed been seen there and by 30+ ...This is a no go area !!!
  • Thr Links is the only real club but it is very poor. The Star, Busby's and Sharkey's put on events and stay open late but can't really be classified as clubs.
  • The Links is the only real club and is of rather a low quality. The Star stays open till 1 each night but is full of thugs and alkies and is generally best avoided.
