  • watch out for souled asylum at the park hotel there only here acouple of times a year but there top notch
  • the best places to see and hear :live bands: would be the black abbot'the northern vaults'busby's' salutation inn' neptune bar' anchor bar' mercantile golf club' and once a month at the cally golf club. local bands include 'BLUE ICE' 'MANDATE' 'BUNNA RIFT' 'BACKTRAXS' and quite a few up and coming teenage bands from the school. montrose has always been a great place for music, going back to the 70s with K.J.B an 8 piece band with female and male vocalists, back to the 60s with MAcBETH PERISCOPE 3 piece band, TOMMY DENE & THE BLACKHAWKS, BLACKHAWKS, and anybody remember RAY STARR & THE ASTRONAUTS, formed at MONTROSE youth club in the TOWNHEAD SCHOOL 1962 with MRS,DILLY & GEORGE NORRIE, those were the days [ha,ha]
  • Busby's ...... good for local talent .........

  • Busbys have bands on but they are always far too loud and the place is full of Mum's and Dad's in tight leather.
  • Utter shite, the Vaults, the Black Abbot, get a life you sad individuals, and as for Sharkys, well its full twats.
  • There's a band nite every month to raise money for the skate park with some local bands such as Disruptive Influence, heroes in a haf shel, Morpeth and the ever boring and hated ego-maniacs Crashdown
  • The Black Abbot is by far the best place for live music, practically every weekend there is a live band.which are all far better than the other "Bands" you here in sharky's and the northern vaults.
  • STAR HOTEL : See club guide.
  • Busby's but if there are six folk there the bouncers say its full and won't let you in.
  • none really!
  • Northern Vaults have a good range of bands or karaoke every weekend. Well worth a visit.
  • The Star and Sharkey's are the best bet for seeing live music though the quality of band appearing in definately suspect.
  • The Star occasionally has live music of varying quality. Sharkeys sometimes has good bands. Many of the other pubs put on fairly standard groups.
