The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
- RE: "Why does the card shop in the corner at the port always smell of poop? "
The one near Blockbusters? Blockbusters used to be a butcher's shop, and the owners used to pour all the blood and guts down the drain. The drains were cleaned out with caustic soda but the smell didn't go away. That's why that corner stinks of shit.
- Look out for the 1st Montrose Music Festival taking place from 30th May to 1st Jun '08. Big name band to appear at Mopntrose Town Hall on Friday night, then weekend of live music, of all types and genres in mutiple venues around town over Sat and Sun. Something for everyone. - As a recent visitor from Ayrshire to Montrose I have to say what a pleasant and friendly place it was. Driving in through Brechin didn't exactly fill me with joy but Montrose turned out to be infinetly more appealing. On my arrival and despite the weather the locals were in good spirits. Everywhere seemed to be closed but I was guided by a lovely old lady to a near by hotel where the owners were kind enough to offer me a coffe and information on what was on in the area (not a great deal as it transpired, but it was Easter Sunday). I met my friend there (more on that later) and there was no charge for the glass of water she asked for, I paid the bill on and off we went. I fancied a walk on the beach and on the way my guide pointed out some local landmarks (church, the academy, golf course, flower gardens, caravan site, Glaxo, tresspassing gypsies etc) and we exchanged pleasantaries with church goers and those brave enough to face the weather closer to the beach front, and what a wonderful beach. Even in the misty, wet and windy conditions a stroll along the beach was most agreeable (more to do with the company if I'm honest). From there I was then shown some of the more famous drinking establishments of the town, had some interesting mushroom soup, taken on a tour of Forfar, out again for a lovely meal this time at Finnaven where we were amused by the torturing of Easter chicks (sorry if the spelling isn't quite right and no actual animals were harmed I'd like to add!)then back to Montrose to relax for a while where I managed to empty a pub with my juke box selection(Gwen Steffani has a lot to answer for, I didn't know there was an instrumental version) before heading back to Ayrshire. So, all in all my trip was a success. Montrose is lovely despite what you locals might think but I have to say that without a shadow of a doubt the best thing about Montrose has to be....my companion for the day, Nikki. Thanks for a great day
- Crashdown won angus battle of the bands. Are officialy the best young band in angus. Thye have head lined the Cat house in Glasgow. Have a huge fan base!! Great band!! Very talented !. People tend 2 be jelous . Do not be miss lead by people telling you they are bad . Judge for urself. They are not a montrose band they are from breching and are currently about to record and distrubute a cd around 200 shops in britain. So i feel that the statement "ever boring and hated ego-maniacs Crashdown " is a tad un true. They are not much hated!. Check them out at crashdown-rock.co.uk :) cheerzx
- I love you all... especially the muckers nad the buckleheads... thankyou for letting e enter your little world of carnage, and not to worry, i will be campaining for carange to be in the next olympics... braw adios!!! mj
- busbys now has a cash machine and they charge to get in they seem to think there some sort of nightclub. sarkeys is now a dive but roos leap still makes top notch scoff.but if u get a take away be careful because the dosy buggers never close boxes properly and u will end up with food all over your car.
- Lads, If any of you are interested in life as a North sea tiger go to Brechin and start hanging around in the Springfield. The less experience you have the better and if you are totally clueless great. You just have to Chalk Davie's cue
- everyone go to the hiller its loads a fun
- John Maclean is well hot!
- schmoked!
- montrose is a small town.how many barbers/hairdressers does it need?
- Too many people in Montrose think they are the best thing in the world. Most of them dont seem to realise that they are in fact arseholes and nobody really likes them not even their "friends".
- This is the most shocking example of profesional writing I have ever seen. The author should learn spelling, syntax and grammer before even attempting to communicate with a mass audience such as this. The comments have no back up therefor no basis of truth, the page layout is confusing and not one word this homepage has had any time spent over it at all. My two year old daughter has created a better web page. But no hard feeling's, ain't that right dear?
- I dont want to just slag the town off but when arbroath and brechin are full of scum just out the nick montrose will be next and then the town will be really fucked
- At New Year, you will find yourself squashed amidst people of all ages at The Bells.Loads of locals,(and we wish people would visit..)pack the high street to bring in the New Year. Its Great!!
- The town is choc a bloc with shambolic individuals from the boy down Whites Place that polishes his car 24/7 and I mean 24/7 all the way to folk who are shit at pool but take it really seriously.
- montrose is a good place to live for elderly couples or those with young children, however for anyone who craves excitement this is not the place to be.
