• the best thing about Neath is that it isn't threatening. But therefore it isn't exciting either. There are some great schools (English & Welsh), we don't get high crime rates (but you don't want to go to the town centre Fri/Sat night unless you are drinking), we don't get the extremes of weather (floods, snow etc.), and on the doorstep we have beaches, countryside, parks, mountains, and and the road & rail networks put us in easy reach with Swansea, Cardiff and London is you need cities. It's a good place to raise kids, or retire to.

• The best thing is the Gnoll Country Park. It says dont swim in the pond but what do we do.....swim in the pond. Beautiful scenery of Neath from up there.

• Um, Well... the train station can take you to port talbot or swansea or cardiff or a million other tidy places
• Neath is a beautiful little town, in all fairness. It's got some beautiful buildings.If it were totally devoid of people it might be a nice place to have a look at. But it isn't.
• Must have missed these.
• The surrounding countryside. The old Grammar school - it was my ticket out!
• People are friendly and don't take themselves seriously- compare to Richmond where I now live. Great rugby club, but its inability to change to embrace the professional game could bury them. I hope not. Neath on New Years Eve- a lot of people return from around the country and the globe and meet old mates. There's definitely something about the town that makes people return, its very down to earth.
• The people, the countryside.
• Penscynor wildlife park. 10 miles from Gower peninsular-natural beauty spot many excellent beaches, not polluted.
• Good even when it's raining.
• Good place if you're in the area, looking for something new.

• Cheap beer, even if it is full of water.
• Robert Opel - it wouldn't be the same without his 'presence' around the town.
• Neath Rugby Club. Still a top side in Britain.
• It's cheap.
