- Cinema's? Pffft...Instead Of Building Fucking Flats I Think The Money Scrounging Council Should Think About Putting Sumthing Like A Cinema In Neath Because There Is Absolutly Fuck All To Do In Neath! Pitts Like!
- Used to be one in windsor road where the abbey formally was but got closed down ages ago
- There hasn't been a cinema in Neath for years. The last one, The Windsor on Windsor Road, the main road into Neath closed in the '90's after about 10 years of opeing and closing under different management. There is a cinema planned allegedly by the local council (I heard 5 screens mentioned). This will replace the horrible looking Civic Centre (which is now being replaced). This of course will take several years, and probably more knowing the council. So if you really want to go to the cinema you have three choices. Apollo Cinemas on the beachfront in Port Talbot - this has ample parking, but lacks bus services. The cinema itself has 6 screens, but there isn't much leg room. Lock your car well too! Car crime is high here and you have to drive through a council estate to get to the cinema (It has improved somewhat in the last 10 years however). The next place is UCI Swansea - this has 10 screens. Only the 2 big screens are worth wathing anything in though because the others have long narrow auditoria with insufficient soundproofing, so you could end up listening to next door's film. Also the screens aren't the right size for the films, so you might be missing the whole picture. This is very noticeable when you can't read the opeing credits properly on screen. If you end up in the smallest screens (of which there are 4), you'll be watching a postage stamp. Might as well watch TV to be honest. Also, the free parking can be a nightmare by day, and this car park is the highest in the UK for car crime. Swansea is a little walk over a footbridge if you want to go into town. The last real choice is the best one, but it involves travelling to Bridgend ODEON - this site has 9 screens, free parking and superb sound and picture. It's also cheaper than the other cinemas for tickets. The cinema is part of the Mac Arthur Glen site, boasting various fast food & healthy food outlets, as well as the Designer outlets attached to the main building. From Neath this takes about 20-25 mins by car, but the wait is worth it. The only problem this site has is that it is just off the M4, so you more or less have to have a car to get there. But I Highly recommend this cinema. (Until we get a Cinema in Neath this is the only real alternative.)
- The Old Windsor Cinema was a cracker, I remember going there once or twice.
Wasnt the Empire bingo place a cinema once??
- the nearest cinemas are the UCI in swansea and the Apollo in Port Talbot, the Apollo is the best though. bowling and laserdome are in swansea, still none in Neath
- One got flooded then had a fire and is now the scabby abbey.
- None except the old abbey from years ago
- Sorry but Neath cant offer you a cinema but that doesnt mean it is crap. Its just a five minute journey to Swansea UCI. I hate the person who said Neath was a SHITHOLE because It didnt have a cinema.
- WE HAVE NO CINEMA!!!! How crap is that?
We did once but it got flooded. They had barely recoved financially from the fllod when there was a fire.
Why not have the flood straight after the fire? Makes more sense.
This Cinema has now become... THE ABBEY (shock! horror!
- None as yet but we've been led to believe that when the Civic Centre
is rebuilt it will include a cinema.
- What cinema - is there a cinema in neath - NO! tHE aPOLLO IN pORT tALBOT IS GOOD
- CINEMA'S HA HA HA , WE WISH ' there ain't one cinema in the whole of neath, the best place to go (about 20 min's away) is the apollo in port talbot, the uci in swansea is okay, bu to expensive, and a nightmare trying to park there
- The UCI Swansea - 10 mins away, 10 screens, Bowling and great hot dogs.
- The nearest cinemas, bowling, laser-death, etc. experience are in Swansea - along with the decent clubs, fights, cafes...
- There was one but they turned it into a cheap nightclub for Valley Commandoes. Who said culture is dead.
