Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
- Port Talbot is a scruffy Shithole The Segulls fly upside down coz it aint worth shitting on down there!!! Neath's fucking Arch it right up !!
- The Arch Has Now Been Fully Refurbished And Looks Mad As Fuck! Looks A Whole Lot Betta =P Craig Brunger, What Can I Say? Definatly The Best Dj In The Arch! He's Awsome, And Unlike Phil Hays He Actually Plays The Tracks You Ask Him To. Craig Should Definately Be In A Bigger And Better Place Than The Arch, But Would Dissapoint A Lot Of People If He Left. He's Closely Followed By Owen Who Is Also A Very Good Dj, Then In The Far Distance You Have Phil Hays. Ludicrous 17th November '06 With Hell Of A Line Up Including...Marcel Woods, Jon O'Bir, Tylor Leigh, Anthony Williams And Good Old Craig...This Is All Genuine! Richie-Boy!
- the arch - slammin music and if what you want to find is a load of druggies RIGHT off there bins then just hit the back of the arch where you'll see the main crew (bryncoch, skewen, cimla etc) chewing there gumssss non stop :).
- The arch! Its not as bad as you all say it is, its the onlything neaths got so dont take it for granted! The djs aint tha bad! Phil gets the crowd going but its craig and owen u wanna listen out for! thier awesome. I dont understand why craig is still in there, he is too good to be in there! its getting refurblished soon and theres some top name djs coming there in ludicrouses! I cant wait if i was u id go. keiran ventre
- Well its 2005 - Nearly 2006 and the Arch is still the only place to go in Neath as the Abbey has not re-opened! oh the shame! its still got the same Djs - Craig Brunger being the only one worth listening too. Phil Hayze still amazes me - for he cannot Dj, but hay, keep on trying mate, everyone has a dream! Its a really nice place to go for a boogie, if you like cheeze that is! And yes - Moo is still there - the pepparami still rocks!
- Signals, or more commonly known as the Arch!!! (abbey shut down years ago) lets say the toilets are well used by certain friends
- Signals Nightclub - Commercial Street Neath
Wot a brilliant night out in this club it has the best DJ in the area with all the top music and lighting from modern day
- The Arch!!!! Now used as a substitute for the Abbey - if it wernt for Craig Brunger id never go out! Phil is crap - He steals other Djs Sets and is a right perv! Its orite if you like allot of cheezy music - but if you go out about 10ish ull catch Brungers first set (funky) and then if u get drunk or pull by the time your done it'll be time for brungers 2nd set!(1.30 - shud be on all night if u ask moi!)
- cafe g's in neath is a good p[lace to be on a thursday night, they do kareokee until 2 am and theres a £25 prize for the best singer, but thers never any good singers coz everyones too drunk to sing but its a good laugh, and its quiz night in the markt tavern then eveyone goes over to g's until 2
- Katz NightClub(queen st back rd) is under new management and is starting to take over as the main venue in Neath. New promoters have started working with the owner and it is the only place where you will find top-class dj's in Neath. For Example BigAl(escape) is playing there on april 9th and Danny Slade is there on the 30th!
- Awesome nights out, fond memories, especially the bouncer called Danz from the talk of the Abbey!
- I know the Abbey was a total dive, but thats Neaths history - and I f**king miss the place, there's nowhere else to go and get off your face while being surrounded by all your gibbing mates!!
The Arch (Signals) nightclub is the only one left in Neath now (and the D.J is really shitty and perverted - sick bastard. I reckon Jerome opens the Abbey back up and gets the three best D.J's in town :- Nicky Lawson (formally worked the abbey & the arch), Craig Brunger (from the abbey & the arch aswell) and Jamie New (best funky D.J EVA!!) All three are much better than Phil Hayes - dirty old perv (I sware if he plays YMCA one more time Im gonna cry!)
- all u sad bastards who keep slaggin off neath jus tak alook at port talbot wot a shit hole i mean look at birdy
- Theres a few decent places in neath like the new pub Weatherspoons(but it has no music!!,but cheap booze!)theres a new night club called Signals or the Metro Bar formerly know as the Arch, there is the Abbey which is ok not as good as it used to be but great if ur on the pull!.The cam will be good when it re-opens in 6 weeks after refurbishment! neath is a good night out if your looking not to spend that much money.
- The Scabby Abbey
- The Abbey, the Arch (now closed ) and many small pubs!!! i am better known in Swansea although i have worked on the Door's in Neath and also as a DJ
- Obviously the best venue is Cafe G's open till 2am, it's free and there's music to suit everybody from the 50's to the year 2001
- Scabbey Abbey. Mother saying " I remember with the Abbey was a wonderful little cinema whaivh I used to take you to".Now its full of drugs and silly people that are remarkably young partron.Hahahaha. Cafe G's is the place to be. Gets a bit full and noisey and smoky. It take you 10 days to que for the toilet. But overall a good music pub. You could also go to Walabies, The Market Tavern, Full Moon, The Cam, The Angel or the Ives (Good food in the day here)
- been away from neath for a year, but looking forward to getting thrown out of the abbey for the third time. Fun if you go with a big group of mates!!
- Wahey!!! The biggest + bestes nightclub aroud here is set to re-open ... THE MILLENIUM IN BAGLAN (PORT TALBOT)! on tues sept 12th. 'bout time to, the club's been shut 4 ages, EXPENSIVE TAXI RIDE HOME BUT WELL WORTH IT, oh yeah, cheaper really than a night in Swansea, (+ better), and as for a night on the town in neath, well, what can I say, not much really..., the best thing we got is a taxi rank, go there and get a taxi to port talbot
- Guide to a night out in neath ...
1) Go to bus station by victoria gardens
2) Get on a bus for Port Talbot
- THE ABBEY- Complete with bouncers who can not be described without swearing.
- Neath Tornadoes Skater Hockey Club are looking for Pee Wees 10 - under 14
- The arch will be reopening late in 2000 watch this space !!!
- The ARCH NIGHTCLUB will re-open in july/august 2000 after a total referbishment
- The Abbey- the only late night hot spot in the area......get there early
or you won't get in!
- The Dark Arch is undergoing a refurb which will take forever, as they also own The Abbey, which is a nice place if you want to be beaten up by thugs masquerading as bouncers.
- I hear the abbey have applied for a 4am liscence - CLOSE ITDOWN THEY SHOULD - THE DUMP !
- I don't care what anybody says about the millennium night club in port talbot but it totally crap but if your into 12yr olds it was the place to be and considering it's shut down how good do you reckon it is?????????
If you intend on going out anywhere I'd suggest neath if you haven't got allot of money but if your a seriuos clubber and you have the cash I'd travel to cardiff
- 2 clubs - arches + abbey - as their names suggest they are both pretty much crap! - under no circumstances should anyone in the right frame of mind come to neath clubbin - no way. I'm going to the Carlton and Club2000 in port talbot ('bout 15 mins away) for the millenium - they are merging like to have one hell of a millenium party - wahay
- THERE'S LIKE 2 CRAPPY CLUBS IN NEATH - YOUR BEST BET, = PORT TALBOT - THE MILLENIUM IS GRAET + THE UNDERGROUND, THE CARLTO, ANDTHE APOLLO, RAPAREES NOT TO BAD FOR THE OLDER GENERATION PERHAPS -
- abbey on a friday.
- Basically 2 nightclubs one's crap, the others burnt down, There's a great club in Port Talbot, (about 10 min's away) The Millenium, speaking of Port talbot the Caerlton, Apollo, etc. . . are also great + don't forget swansea - Time, escape, jumpin jack's etc.
- The talk of the abbey is the only half decent club around, for a tidy night out go to Swansea orPort Talbot
- There's the abbey, like, mush.
- an abundance . top choice: the abbey
- Myself and 3 friends visited neath for the weekend. I know of some people in Skewen and my nan grew up in swansea and to be honest that is all we knew about south wales. When we arrived in oou hotel the bloke advised us NOT to go out into Neath at night because it wasn't safe. After umming and aring we went out and I'm glad we ignored him. No matter what this site says (or the locals) we had a fantastic time and the people were dead friendly. We are coming again in april. Love from the Brummies.
- The Arch - crap, full of 12 yr olds, and the Abbey - equally crap, but they keep getting Eastender's stars, such as Ross Kemp, for some reason.
- I haven't been to the Abbey since it reopened in early '98 as I am now living in London, but lets just say I'm not planning any special trips down.....The Arch is, I agree, like a youth club these days (or am I getting older?)..... The Manor is totally off limits.
- Although refurbished, the Abbey is as dire as it ever was before it was "struck by lightning". Go there if you're from Neath but think you're really sophisticated and elegant [sic.]. The Arch remains a sad and shabby place, but if snogging schoolgirls is your thing, it's still the place to be. The Melin Manor is "sadly" no more.
- The Abbey is again one of the U.K.'s best clubs with all the lush women.
- Too many to name.
- Worst Thing - The lack of decent clubs (the Arch is awful and the Abbey is burnt)
- Abbey is not burnt! (It has reopened.)
- Simply not worth the effort unless you like Gladiator style bouncers and crap dance tunes that were popular a year or two ago in the rest of the UK. The Arch is a good place to see 1980's fashions.
