• I remember when skewen was a small village when there was hardly any cars on the road on sundays and you could set your watch by the people coming and going to thier place of worship on a sunday.

• Most of the people I was in school with have dissappeared. This is because there is still a very small town mentality in Neath and the place is not progressive. Anyone who can gets out and goes elsewhere, usually England. to stop this trend we really need to be more forward looking, appreciate what we have and build on it. Neath College has one of the best catering colleges in the country, we have some great old buildings which should get renovations (The Windsor Cinema bult in1938 used to be the largest cinema in Wales - it is huge. This could be used as a cinema/theatre/arts centre/gallery etc. The Gnoll ground should have tours around them, and a better entrance road which doesn't take you through a council estate. The Grounds themselves are superb. There's much to build on in Neath if the powers that be have the sense to do it.
• One day miracle will arrive in Neath and save it from the hell that is the population which inhabits it. Until then I will not return.
• if you were born in neath you tend to love all its crap little pubs and crappy clubs. its tradition, and we love it!!!
• I visited neath once,about 5 years ago,and some fat,moustachioed bloke tried to pick a fight because we had london accents and were wearing decent clothes,i would name the labels but you probably have never heard of them ( only joking boyos)it turns out this fat geezer was a postman in longford,also i have never seen so many teenage girls pushing pushchairs and blokes with tatoos.I swore never to even DRIVE through the place again,let alone stop...see ya
• Skewen is great to grow up in there's the quarry where you can fall down a shaft or you can drink cider and run to get a buzz, life just doesnt get any better, but moving to Canada has made me miss the most ridiculous stupid things in the world. By the way all Welsh people are really great.

• neath people are great. the problems occur when busloads of woolybacks decend on the town 'for a good night out'
• Neath is the biggest shithole in the universe, no cinema, no bowling alley or tidy entertainment venue, no shopping center, come on, why would anyone in they're right mind want to live here

• Lots of interesting history & industrial archeology.
• Great Fair: 4th oldest in Britain, started in 1280, held 2nd Thursday in September for 4 days
• Rugby: Welsh all blacks, established 1871. First class team, best in Wales.
• Hotels: Castle, Europa, Diplomat, Cimla Court & Melyn Manor.
• Leisure Centre: swimming, squash, health centre, multigyms etc.
• Castle: built 12 century, also site of Roman fort (120 AD)
• Gunsmoke: children's cowboy town.
• Coal museum nearby.
• Population Neath & district: 35000.
• Neath Indoor Market There are a lot of shops in here ranging from collectors stalls, butchers, flowers books, records & cds, sweets, and the traditional cafes selling faggots and peas!
• Banks Barclays, Midland, TSB, Lloyds
• Churches The Christian Centre, Graig Road, Briton ferryNeath. It's a church to enjoy your God, where you will find real life and a loving spirit.
• Someone has the phone number to a couple of the phone boxes in Neath, if you hear one ring oick it up, if your game 4 a laugh
• The town is run by bent politicians. Labour has always been in power but what have they ever done ?
