The Worst Things in Neath, Glamorgan*
The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it
You can tell us more about Neath.
The Worst Things
- Slags and Slappers And the STI'S
- the mindless vandals that purpetually smash the glass bus stops ....dont they realise inadvertently they and their family pay to have them repalced!!!Along with the rest of the community....Senseless and too many indian and chinese takeways! making New Road smelly.
- Phil Hayze - Resident Dj at the Arch - Off with his Head!
- you can alwas get a fight
- Phil Hayze - Resident Dj of the Arch/Signals!
- There is nothing for kids to do in town (apart from the small Leisure Centre). There's no Cinema or Bowling Alley. The arts programme in Neath is dismal. There are no dance or acting classes for kids. The visual arts are ignored. The Lifelong Learning Serivces are dismally organised and do not help the low rate of literacy or numeracy in the area. There's also no industry left in Neath. Work is sparse, so everyone has to commute. These are all issue we should be bugging our councilors and MP's about. To their credit, the Council supplies free internet access through the libraries however.
- it never snows always raining
- staying in neath on the weekend and going to signalls nightclub and the dj plays stuff like oasis. me thinks he his still stuck in the 90s pratt
- D.J PHIL HAYES (PERV)
- the kasbah full of ex boyfriends, kids and pill heads!
Kiwis just opened where Scholars is but its crap
Pontardawe
- pugh, parr
- Poor Clothing Shops!
- No shops in Skewen
- The rain
- Pigeons - i hate the things;
Knowing most of the people you see on the street;
The College;
The Abbey;
- Cimla road after snow or ice. Im telleing you nobody like me up there. I repent I repent
- having too endure the crap music that they play
- The worst thing about living in Skewen is the number young kids hanging around on street corners Drinking and vandalising property and generally being abusive to ordinary people getting on with their lives - especially around tennant park and the phone box.
- Have you noticed that the whole town is slowly being taken over by Swansea Housing Association. Before long the town will be purely flats for dolites. This bloody council is ruining Neath. They even are planning to shut the Abbey nightclub so that Swansea housing can carry on they splendid work.
- The amount of street litter and dog s**t..
- Civic centre.
- the pollution that is worse than people care to believe
- EVERY TIME U GO TO THE HALIFAX IN QUUEN STREET..THE CASHIERS ARE ALWAYS PUSHING U TO TAKE OUT NEW LOAN/MORTGAGE.CRDEIT CARD......STOP IT!!!!
- No where legal for 16 to 18 year olds. Too old for the Blue light disco too young for the Talk of the Abbey
- night clubs not much choice
- Rain, rowdy,vomiting drunks, more rain, very little entertainment.
- Skewen especially Parc Bryn (alias the bronx) has a high number of theives
I drove my car past there at 30 m.ph. and I was told I was lucky to have
any wheels left. Not knowing the area that well we did not judge but soon after
were drugged up and abducted by drug dealers and driven by a drunk driver. Why is it
that this happens ? There are many courses that you don't need qualifications
for and most don't cost anything. Surely making cakes is better than bashing old grannies. There is no need to turn to crime unless
of course that people on the estate are all junkies (another nice thing
we were told). Why can't they get help for there addiction or stop in
their own home instead of other peoples.
- The endless, ceaseless, drenching, soaking rain! Does it ever stop?
- Drivers who don't think they have to indicate, (there are many) Taxi drivers who like cutting you up, and all the close circuit cameras that stop you speeding and having fun.
- Living there 7 days a week- I had to get out. I now really appreciate it when I come home at Christmas. Violence in the pubs although it has got better over the last 5 years. Windsor Road- it looks sad these days.
- The lack of employment.
- It can take a day or two to dry up.
- Crap night life!
- I never thought I'd ever see the day when I'd read about my former watering hole - the St Ives, on the Internet. There must be many a sad anorak in Skewen. Does Andy (the landlord) know about this - he is not a man to mess with. Why no mention of Briton Ferry and its resurgent economy (sic)?
- Total lack of top quality women!
- Those awful fast-food shops on The Parade.
- Sheer number of theme pubs, e.g. Wallabies - about as Australian as me.
