The school was more near to Botcheston, on Markfield Lane.

    my name is roger firth, i was a pupil at desford boys school. from 1963 until 1965. have been researching its history.i have lots of open day and boxing programmes from the 40's up until the 70's. also have a 21 page history, lots of photos and i am in touch with at least 17 other ex pupils of the school. so in what way can i be of assistance.

    I WAS THERE IN 1944 WHEN THE HOUSES WERE CALLED BLUE,GREEN,YELLOW,AND BROWN. THEY CHANGED THEM TO ATHERSTONE,BELVOIR ,FERNIE AND QUORN AFTER FAMOUS HUNTS. THE HEAD WAS CALLED S.     I have to agree with Davie Maddens'(Member 64282)sentiments regarding Polebrook House. The overall experience wasn't that positive really, although I do have some fond memories regarding individuals and a few adventures thou (but not that many)

    Positives were I learned how to play chess and go, make stupid whale table lamps, youth hosteling and a couple of staff members

    Doesn't seem to be any further messages on our thread for a year or two - or three now. I'm a hypnotist. I did a past life regression with somone who, 3 lives back, was Robin Smith, a game keeper, working on the estate of Sir John Keating in Newbold, Leics in 1769.

It may be pure fiction. I don't know. Can any local historians tell me one way or the otherif there was a Sir John Keating (or maybe Keeting) in Newbold in 1770ish?
