• Zeera is by far the best quality Indian food in Newcastle. No one seems to notice it for Shalimar in the more prominent corner spot, but you're always guaranteed quality, service, freebes, and various discounts at Zeera, inc 20% off for collection, and discount for students dining in. They use organic ingredients too so it's extra yummy. The best pub food I'd say was the London Road Tavern, past the Cherry Tree which has a good value menu
• DEFINATLEY THE OATCAKE SHOP IN THE TOWN JUST UP THE STREET FROM SAINSBURYS, ITS UP THE STREET WITH THAT CARPET SHOP ON THE CORNER. THEY MAKE THEIR OWN OATCAKES AND ARE THE NICEST THINGS IN THE WORLD!!
• Like everywhere else in the country there is a Pizza Hut and a McDonalds. However, for big portions of high quality food there is the Hungery Horse.

• best 2 kebabs, antonios and royal balti in audley are amazin oh and biggy end chippy on a friday nite on the way home for chips and peas!!!!
• Sherif- THE best Pizzas in the world.
• The food in Edwards's is gorgeous
• 'Moonshine' opposite Pablo Frankis and all that where the market stalls are is really good for a late nite drunken apres-club snack!

• Limes, The Ironmarket - Contemporary and traditional English dishes, with superb presentation.
• The Ephesus Turkish restaurant is quite pricey, but has belly dancing and a gallery of film gangsters outside the toilets. Which is nice, because the manager will remind you of De Niro in Casino.
• Miccy D's in the High street.
• Paco's cafe off Iron Market.
• Gio's Cafe Bar.
• Burgess's Bakery, and Castle Oatcakes on London Road.
• Only decent chippys are Shaw's at the bottom end of the High Street and Goodde's near Sainsbury's
• Burgess's bakery has closed. Try the Octopus for fish and chips, just of the town centre.
