Where to go to get down

You can tell us more about Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Clubs (Dance Music) and Music Bars
  • One word.. Reflex!!
  • One word.. Reflex!!
  • There are no gay or gay-friendly places here(2/2006)
  • deffo the rigger for the rockers/goths
  • Newcastle really excells in providing low quality clubs. The best on offer is the standard chain bars, such as Revolution.
  • best Clubs and bars in Castle have be Revs..Fluid..Brasso's..Edwards'..Blues..The Tube..Weatherspoons..and once agen BRASSOS!
  • fluid is really gud. its the only club that plays decent music - r&b.
  • Valentinos is now called and has been for years, Creation!
  • the void in hanley but its like a cow shed
  • metropolis, but its over 21s i think. they id EVERY1 neway!! flairs is now flickers but has kept the glass front and bright orange walls and is full of late 20 yr olds ranging to old men!!!! brassingtons is good when it gets going on a fri nite. the dance floor is small thou. zanzibar is sposed 2b really rough best going 2 the place or creation in hanley for clubbing
  • Maxims Nightclub. Its grab a granny every night at this horrible dive. Look out for the fat middle aged blokes at the bar supping a pint of Magnum Superstrength while ogling the two fresh faced slappers on the dancefloor.
  • Metropolis is getting worse......but its still ok if u know people in there!! Brassingtons is now open till 2.30 Wed, (student nite) Fri and Sat and has a dance floor and cool music. And its being extended!! Yey!!
  • Satchmos, home of Reckless in Hanley (I know this is supposed to about N-U-L but there aren't any decent clubs there). I now live in Leicester but do enjoy goinn home once in a while to go to this great club.
  • Metropolis, Zanzi-bar.
  • Metropolis with crap cheesy music upstairs, better down in the basement, still gets filled with kids from school. Zanibar- try and find out wot goes on........
  • Rockin robbins and castles is now Metropolis still as cheesey as ever fantastic
  • Stoke on Trent, Newcastle u Lyme, home of the worlds greatest night spots: The Crystal Ballroom, Newcastle Spooners, Silverdale The Embassy Club, Burslem Mr. Smith's , Hanley
  • There are no music clubs in Newcastle Under Lyme, but there are several bars where they play music while the selfish gene tries to navigate its human host to replicate itself. And no visit to Newcastle is complete without an hour spent standing outside Flairs. This club has a glass front, so you can watch the funky dancers and bouncer as DJ strut their stuff. There is a rumour that one manager of Flairs killed himself, out of shame.
  • Time and Space is now Castles, and Rocking Robins. It is amazingly cheesy, in a kind of medieaval theme bar way, and full of either ancient Pat Butcher lookalikes in miniskirts (usually red leather) or pre-GCSE (maybe pre-SAT) child slappers. They throw you out, quite violently, if you end up in a beer fight (especially if you use other peoples beer).
  • The cube closed donkeys ago and is now called 'Zanzibar'. It has a cheesey 70s night on Weds, lots of school kids on Fri, and is generally fun but full of a fair few fossils on Sat. Go there, but beware!
  • The Cube: currently closed for refurbishment, or due to it being the epicentre of the drugs culture in Newcastle, depending on how much you believe the papers.
  • Fatty Arbuckles: more of a caberet show I think.
  • Keele Student Union: If you have an S.U. card then this id usually worth a visit as it has a late license and a pub atmosphere (ish).
  • Valentinoes, Hanley.
  • The Academy, Hanley.
  • Maxims - for the more mature clubber
  • Cube is now Zanzibar - very cheesy! Viva Bar next to Time and Space
