- the gate is amazing, 12 screens, clear picture, with restauants on ground and 1st floor (the flix are on the third)
- Tyneside cinema has a mixture of cool indpendent stuff, box office releases and bizarre one offs. God range of alternative movies - foreign, new directors, the stuff that is too alternative for the mainstream, lesbian and gay etc.
- THE GATE
- The Gate
- the gate in newcastle
- Odion good films but pricy.
- The gate, the best pix's in the north!
- THE GATE WHAT A PUFFY PLACE
- the gate has a cinema
- UCI - Silverlink!
- Cinemas wey aye man, imagin the things ya can get up 2 in the back row of the cinemas wit ya lad, it can get hot n steamy in there lik!!
- the Tyneside Cinema, students watching some Estonian film subtitled in Finnish about repressed homosexuality, and pretending they are enjoying it. Yawn.
- Big cinema at the Gate and a small foreign/specialty mini cinema that puts on some cool films in an alley near monument
- Tyneside cinema has allsorts of odd films on, and the odd clubnight
- Tyneside Cinema is a small one, but if you're a movie bore and want something other than the standard multiplex garbage, it atleast offers something.
- The Odeon is bein rebuilt in a new placey called "The Gate" which is opening sometime in 2002 i think, which unfortumate really cos the current odeon is a bit tatty and the smaller screens ain't so fantastic but the Odeon 1 is great, its like being in a theatre its really posh, not much leg room unless u get the psh seat tho. Its also pretty cheap as far as cinemas go, definatly cheaper than Warners which is basically like any other cinema.
The UCI at the silverlink is pretty new and its just like a standard cinema...but the seats are rather comfy and big and u get decent leg room and the slop of the steaing is great cos it means u can actually see above the person in front of u!
- Odeon, wouldn't travel 100m to go there. But Warner village is nice.
- Silver link (not too far from Wet n Wild).Huge comfy seats to lye back in and enjoy the show
- In Town try the Odeon, very comfortable with a big screen, or the Tyne cinema, a
tiny indep outfit with art deco styling and an oh so chic eatery (darling!) that shows
many a critically aclaimed film, mostly forign stuff. The UCI in the metrocentre
which has a gadzillion screens, all comfy all with the latest (and loudest) sound
system. While in the metrocetre, go to GX Superbowl, the lanes are warped and the
balls are chipped but show an NUS card and watch as the prices drop to less than a
pint of beer.
