- native has some good shoes
- Pasha, sells only homemade clothes and hats and bags and scarves, is run by 3 old hippies and also sells all the cannibis smoking equipment you could ever need
- Got worse this last year for designer clothes fans, small places go out of business fast...RIP Strand, Red label and Shelf
- Worth checking out some clothing shops near the BIgg market and those alleyways as there are a few funky clothing shops such as maverick, vintage shops and homemade shops all selling decent priced goods. If your looking for Vintage take a wander to Royal vintage - Go to the bottom of Northumberland street and carry on down the road past the old odeon which os closed down now. Fantastic range of vintage clothing, and one off pieces that will make your mouth water
FLIP is an all american clothing store, selling you guessed it, only americal clothing. Perhaps you need an outfit for a fancy dress night out, or maybe just wanna wear some funky american jackets etc. Its near central station, but up some alleys. Quite hard to find, but if you spot japanese and chinese eating establishments, its near there.
- "again" - the Salvation Army's new charity shop which sells pretty upmarket and trendy stuff, it even has a "retro" section. On Clayton Street.
- NATIVE
- Cruise Flannels for all you 'haircut 100's'
- loads in metro centre - gateshead and eldon square - newcastle
- NATIVE
- Maverick and union and also Envy.
- Kathamdu-The Green-Old Eldon Square
This is like the best shop eva nd all the 'little goths' don't go nd spend their pocket money there on 'saterdays'...whoeva wrote d uva 1 needs 2 learn how 2 spell saturdays.....well anyway....it stocks up gd names like pucca, hello kitty, emily, bone kitty etc. and they also have great make-up and fashion accesories. The ultraviolet room is really gd, it has some nice t-shirts in aswell.
- PLENTY!! just look on northumberland street, eldon square, plenty tucked up further down the road from Monument to.
- triple s

The FLIP store in Newcastle has re-opened just round the corner from the old FLIP site, still dealing in American vintage clothing and accessories such as Beanies, Meshback Baseball Caps, shades, Bandannas etc. It's smaller, but "more focussed" as one of our customers remarked. Ring the store on 0191 233 1755 0r email on FLIPNEUK@HOTMAIL.COM for directions/info.

- Loads of SH shops, and TK Maxx which is belta for bargains
- Dances With Unicorns in the GreenMarket. It sells a few goth clothes, and does ear and nose piercing. It also sells lots of body jewellery and other bits of cool stuff. And the guy who works there is gorgeous!

- geordie jeans
- Katmandu. Hippie gear piercing etc ,jewellry smellies etc
- Kathmandu on Hippy Green (Old Eldon Square) sells baggy jeans, cyber goth and lots of alternitive clothing, its good but quite expensive as well. Gets v busy with all the little 'goth' kids spending their pocket money on saterdays tho, before christmas they were making people queue to get into the first shop (there are 2, 2 doors down from each other) altho i haven't seen that since.
Flip has also reopened just round the corner from where it was previously but isn't nearly as good as Flip in either Glasgow or Edinburgh with a much smaller selection of clothes.
- Check Katmandu -it's gr8. The shop's split into two sections, a gothy shop and a more hippyish shop, but both rock. Stock pricey stuff like Raven, but cheaper stuff too, plus gr8 makeup and accessories.
- check out period clothes for the best in oldie goodie stuff-it really is rock and roll.
- there's a funky shop called Kathmandu near the old monument and it's gr8 for skater and gothic clothes and jewellery. the good thing is that charvas don't go anywhere near it because there's loads of alternative ppl there who would out-number every charva in newcastle 50 to 1.
- Maverick nr. the Bigg market for great cool clothes that are too cool to wear unless u r pretentious like me.
- Katmandu is the best shop for a wide range of clothes from trousers to coats. Pet sounds also sells cool tops and huddies at a good price.
- H&M is more into the indies and urburn look.Anythink from clothes, underwear, sleep wear to assesories.
Decent teen shops are the likes of Piolet, rebel Rebel,International and Quiz. They all have a good selection but the quolity isnt too great.Top Shop is the best when it comes to quolity, quontity and style. The prizes can be a bit pushy but its hard to say no ladies!
- High Bridge is the place to head, there is a great skatewear shop although I can't
remember what it is called. While you are there check out Barbarella and the strange
sixties shop (see if you can find it). Personally I tend to stick to the high street
brands, if you are like minded go up to the monument, in that area you will find,
FCUK, Jigsaw, Monsoon (for the ladies) to name but a few. There are roumours of Harvey
Nicks opening a shop up here, watch this space! Then there is Northumberland St.
the rents here are the highest in Europe, just one look and you will understand why
stores are willing to pay £££'s per square foot, here you will find Fenwicks (classy)
and H&M among many others.
- the amazing 'period clothing warehouse' ***** (or more simply 'the flares shop')
there is a cool sixties/seventies place near maverick.
fs
- Flip has now closed down completely. As has the skate shop which used to be opposite
- Maverick, but it's really meant for posing clubbers who have never even seen a sskateboard, never mind stood on one. A tad pricey for those of us that have relationships with maple, steel and urethane.
- Flip, off the Westgate Road, is a decent shop which imports American second-hand clothing. Nothing to do with Flip skateboards and very expensive considering that it's secondhand and most of the stuff cost them almost nowt to buy in. Sells new cargo pants for about £35, in all the nice colours. Also sells own brand t-shirts with logo printed on, buy one and say that it's a rare Flip skateboard tee, impress your gulible friends!
