The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Newhaven.
Pubs
- The Ark is friendly, relaxed and serves decent food.
- Apparently the Ark is better these days. The ship has a 'tasteful' reception room. Ideal for those classy chav weddings!
- Newhaven Pub & Club Charity Pram Race. 29/08/05, 12 pm start, The Bridge Inn. Finishing at the Prince of Wales. This fun event has raised over £6,000 for charities including the Leo House Hospice Appeal & RNLI among others. Please support your local!!!
- Prince of Wales, South Road is a real pub. weekly quizzes. Pool, Darts & Toad-in-the-Hole.
- Watch out for leachy old men and fishermen in the town centre pubs. Best places to go if you don't like the smell of body odour and rotting fish are The Drove and The Hope.
- There are a few pubs, but none are any cop. The Bridge used to be good a few years ago, but a new Landlord barred all the locals and turned it into a carpeted coffee louge kind of affair, as opposed to the lively spit and saw dust we all knew and loved.
- Bridge is okay. Avoid Jolly Boatman, Newfield and well, the riverside. Unless you like beer circa 1975.
- The Flying Fish
- there is the ark but i agree there all spanners in that pub
WHAT HAPPEN TO THE "SHADES"
the harbour tarvern was a pub worth visiting newhaven for
- The Bridge Inn now there's a place.just recently refurbished unfortunately they
forgot to renew the managers.which is a shame because the Bridge was a nice pub
when it was full up,but due to bad management its now empty......DAM SHAME.
- The Ship
The Bridge
The White Hart
The Ark
The Hope
- Over the other side of the river in Denton, the Flying Fish is a truly amanzingly old time small pub. When the whether is extremely wet it even has it's own river running through it, but it does have a fantastic atmosphere.
- Sorry opinion subjective. Try them all, I do.
- The Hampden Arms (in South Heighton just on the outskirts) - Used to be excellent for food and live bands.. Not sure if it's still any good though.
- The Ark (Spanner pub)
The Hope
The Sheffield
The Ship (Used to be good when Brian and Della ran it)
