  • Hmv N Mvc is the basic ones, but then for ur emo shit n some decent music then go to diverse musice, up the hill from the body shop innit grimmie. Spillers in cardiff is awesome, and theirs one in the indoor market in cardiff, worth looking at.
  • diverse music in charles street has the best in independent music, jazz, blues and beyond, plus an amazing vinyl (yes remember vinyl, well its making a comeback) section and the boys there know all things modern or ancient, unless its boy band crap or the latest chart here today hit. often spot GLC members in there getting their latest sounds.
  • diverse & upstairs in the market
  • Nothing much now that Hitman closed, go to Cardiff - Spillers
  • Newport - Rockaway Records and Hitman Records in the centre of town Cardiff - Spillers Records in the centre of town Bristol - Replay Records in the subway under the bus station in the centre of town
  • Hitmans shut down noooooooo! now we gotta pay triple from those fookin corp' bastards HMV
  • Well Troutmark obviously for those second hand books and records. Hit-Man's leaving us - pity that.
  • Troutmark, that place has everything! Vinyl, Cassettes, CD's and the occasional porn video. Hitman, place for cheap music, that place has everything, where the wannabe's think they become 'with it' wen they buy those dreaded hoodies. Don't go
  • Hitman is pretty cool for alternative stuff and a lot less cheesy than Our Price.
  • traxx uk, Newports newest vinyl dance music shop, opposite Gamlins. Specialises in hard house, hard trance, funky, prog, techno, drum and bass. Also sell dj equipment. Newest addition to their stock is funky clubwear by local designers Pen and Lolly. Great atmostphere and friendly.
  • Vinyl Nation, 12 Market Arcade (next to the Arcade pub) Take the second turning after Mcdonalds, down the side of Anglian windows. They sell Underground dance music including gabber, hardcore, hard house, trance, drum & bass, garage etc. Vinyl, CD's, Clothing and all the latest event tape packs. Live DJs on a Saturday afternoon. They also serve drinks and snacks. Excellent place, the owner is a cool guy.
  • hitman records is the best place to go for alternative music and they also sell tickets for local gigs
  • phat beats on charles street
  • hitman, diverse music. hitman generally has a better selection
  • our price has some banging underground chart music like and they always has the new britney cds in and its well wicked
  • Rockaway.. Upstairs in the market. Although it has an immense content of obscure records, its hardly ever open..
  • Hitman. The cheapest aswell best place for the widest range of music in 'Port
  • rockaway in the old market for punk & hardcore, alternative & second hand stuff. diverse for indie-studenty stuff. hit-man for everything else(especialy shit metal t-shirts)
  • hmmmm, hitman rules coz they have this huuuuge heavy metal section but its also got punk, ska and stuff like that :) way cool! plus they sell simpson posters!!
  • Upstairs in the Covered market. Diverse used to be good for indie and stuff but I think it's closed now.
  • The people of Newport complain that there are very few quality shops, but they only have themselves to blame. When good shops do open they don't support them. All they are interested in is saving a pound.Myself I would rather spend a pound or two more in diverse, being served by knowledgable friendly staff and coming away with something I did'nt know I wanted, than spending two hours in Hitman looking for the latest Paul Simon, only to find it filed under B.
  • Hitman is a wicked shop for buying heavy meatl and goth music from and they have the cheapest prices.
  • hitman music is the greatest. top tunes cool prices and that confusing doorway with the "please use other door" sign
  • Diverse - lovely friendly lads who can be easily bribed with lolly pops and star bracelets to tell you all the goss about what's going on in Newport - Paul is my personal favourite! or hitman - more music for less notes guys! there's right!!
  • Hitman, Diverse
  • Theres only 2 Hitman and Ourprice as far as i know, and thats good enough 4 me even whsmith and woolworths sell records
  • Hit man is excellent and caters for every taste - you can even buy stuff for your Dad there!
  • Diverse music (now on Charles Street used to be the best place to get all the old hardcore and house records in the early 90's. Still good for your more obscure stuff, and staff are very knowledgable and will order anything for yo' ass!
  • None of these really - just alot of alcoholics in newport :-Þ (joke) there's the indoor market with alot of interesting ah hem lets say items.
  • Hitman is always good for a bargain.
  • hitman is the only decent one
  • the only record shop is a crap one that only sells old favourites like KylieMynogue or Jason Donavon.
  • Rockaway upstairs in the market. Don't bother buying anything just chat for hours with Dean or simon about punk Rock
  • The Red Cross do some brill oldies
  • Try Diverse Records - carry straight on from the passport office and it's on the right. Brilliant for indie/rock/generally obscure types of music, and sale albums. Also, give Hitman Records on Commercial Street a try if you're fed up to the back teeth with paying ridiculous prices for cd singles.
  • Hit man music has about every album you ever want and very cheap
  • HIT MAN!!! cheap as your mother!
  • Our Price, Commercial Street: loads of commercial stuff. Diverse Music: Dock Street: Loads of diverse/obscure stuff/concert bookings. Hit Man music, Commercial Street: loads of cool stuff.
  • 'Unusual' records? Try next door to the comic shop upstairs in the market.
