Cringing Cult of Celebrity
- that welsh bloke from dirty sanchez comes to town a lot. i once jumped of a sea wall he was afraid to do after a few bevvies lol
- Jamie 'Mockney' Oliver. I used to like this bloke for his crusade against crappy school dinners, but now he's responsible for Watergate Bay losing a cool pub. It would seem that since '15 Cornwall' opened above the 'Extreme Academy Bar' at Watergate Bay, the 'Bar' is now the 'Extreme Academy Restaurant', serving up meals to disappointed wannabes who couldn't get a table upstairs at '15'. So surfers are no longer allowed in wearing wetsuits, and it is no longer dog friendly. The bar area is now tiny, and has a rubbish view of the sea, and the only draught lager is 'Budweiser'. I no longer spend any money there. If I have to walk back to the car to get changed out of my wetsuit, me and the dogs might as well go up to the dog friendly 'Phoenix' which has always served excellent food, not just jumped in some bandwagon, and also serves really good local beer on tap, and excellent local wines. Can you tell how miffed I am? It was lovely relaxing with a few post surf pints, watching the sun set over the beach, and being out of the breeze inside with my dogs, but no more! Out are surfers, and in are loud bores in slacks who talk about money.

- Rootjoose rock the word, and sometimes comes to Newquay- esp. Fosters where they blew the place Electracy have recently become uk famous with there no 19 smash Morning Afterglow- they rule!!

- gul international, the wetsuit company, originated there, (wow i here you say!).
