- Queen Street near the Railway station, (known localy as take away alley)for chinese and indian sit in or take outs, Excellent Fish and chip shop next door to KFC.
- usual takeaway chains and at the top of queen street heading towards the train station there are lots of indian and chinese restauranrs. also yummies in the high street in queen street. big up rob for his generous portions.
- Its all cheap. lol.
- The Country Table is a nice vegataian resturant. Nice drinks oo. Home made cooked food, that do not cost too much.
- Jacksons fish and chip shop!
- Yummy's, for the finest pizzas and kebabs in the land. Of particular note is the Chilli Beef Pizza, the King Of All Pizzas!!!
- Newton is home to a vast array of takeaways and restaurants.Coe out of the train station into queen street and you have three indians(best one is EASTERN EYE), FOUR CHINESES(BEST ONE IS KA-MING followed by the brilliant spare ribs in DOUBLELUCK),FRISKYS and YUMMIESoffer kebabs, pizzas,chicken etc,YUMMIES have the edge on the kebab meat but FRISKYS you get more and the chilli sauce is hotter,avoid MIDNIGHT EXPRESS for kebabs. KFC alsoin queen street.
Further uptown you have another chinese in King St called SHU-LI,its ok but have had food poisoning there before. RAJ BELASH is an Indan Restaurant near the Police Station,food above average as is service.
On no conditions eat the rollsor baps in THE SWAN pub,unless you want a beetle or wasp with your lettuce!

Queen Street hosts A Dominos, Three Chinese takeawys(Ka-Ming the best) one sit down Chinese, three Indians(Eastern Eye the best), Friskys(kebabs inconsistent but chilli sauce tops) Yummies(best kebabs with top chilli and garlic sauce). KFC and Roebucks steakhouse also adjacent.Chippies also dotted around the twn. Beware Midnight Express, worse kebabs in town.

- There is an abundance of bakeries along the main drag, and up towards the train station it's take away heaven. For Indian food, the Kah-i-noor is worth trying out.
