Pubs in Newton Abbot, Devon*

The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call

You can tell us more about Newton Abbot.

Pubs
  • Sarecens Head, Fairfield Terrace.A traditional pub that serves good beers,in a freindly atmosphere. with a public bar, lounge bar (no music), beer garden with a covered area for the smelly smokers, good quiz every other friday, live bands at the weekends, brilliant sunday lunches with the best roast spuds in town.
  • The Farmer is bad onb friday nights full of either teenagers or middle aged men trying to F&(£ each other
  • Farmer.... Ships.. W. Spooons..... etc
  • The Penn Inn pub sucks for food. My friend use to work there and says they just shove it all in the microwave. Wetherspoons is nice. I have herd mixed things about the Barn Owl Inn, but I enjoyed it there.
  • Queens Hotel is pleasant, RAILWAY clicky with attitude tenants,PENN INN is okay but spoiled since refit,COURTENAY ARMS lively weekends and very loud, SARACENS fullof hooligans and thugs who willgladly imply hand to hand combat, THE FOX is another that gets busy weekends,JOLLY FARMER busiest pub in town,PBS opposite also busy but attracts a lot of youngsters, weatherspoons busy but way to big to feel at home, too many arseholes frequent it due to cheapness, THE SWAN used to be roughest in town, allsorts frequent this pub, bikers, pissheads, hooligans, winos, rough and ready placebut ok. MARKET HOUSEused to be ok but again gets its fair share of near do wells and lowlifes.JOLLY ABBOT pleasant, often frequented by footballlads, WHITE HART rough and ready but again a bit clicky, LOCOMOTIVE okay, new owners good food, plenty of choice for beer and lagers, DARTMOUTH INN real ale buffs dwelling, you couldbe in here for five hours and nobody will talk to you, GREENE MAN used to be the DEVON ARMS, the oldtag of rough pub now goneand so have the crowds,CIDER BAR fullof red faced shitty pants oldboys!! Sells only cider and wine if you are not localyou willbe served halves instaed of pints of rough localciders.landlord arrogant(my opinion).HEAVITREE just out of town in Broadlands area,if its illegalsubstances you want you will probably get it here as a lot of the junky clan drink here, once a goodpub, change of landlord =CHANGE OF PUB. KEYBERRY INN oldpub just out of town, gets busy weekends but a bit clicky, THE PLOUGH on Buckland Estate is anotherb thats just been refurbished, sadly the 500kspent on it wont work as the pub is on a rough councilestate where the people dont give a shit for things like this, the owners trying to make the pub something it isnt, imagine being in an airport waiting area and you get some idea of how its laid out,too big a place for too few people, most of the residents on the estate frequent the towns pubs anyway a a lot have been previously barred from this pub.SHIPS used to be a good pub but too trendy now with over inflated prices,THE UNION is ok can get busy but often comfortable and pleasant and arsehole free.
  • PORTER BLACKS in Market Street ITS THE DOGS DODAS...........
  • Under age drinkers should get away with it in The Fox, Courtenay Arms at night weekends, Porter Blacks and Jolly Farmer. Pubs to avoid Dartmouth Inn(realale drinkers) Cider Bar(landlords a cock) Swan(unhygenic) Heavitree Arms(Narcotics galore) Roughest pubs Saracens,Fox(at weekends) Farmer(weekends) Market House. Cheapest pubs is Weatherspoons in centre of town. Newton Abbot is a rough town with a high proportion f violent types and hooligans(numerous hooligans from Exeter City Fc are locals as are Plymouth Argyle wellnumbered locally)
  • porters black aka, pb's and jolly farmer both in market street
  • Jolly Farmer Courtney Arms The Ship Cider Bar
  • The pubs are either populated by the scabby, barely-foetal variety of over 18s, or wannabe-farmers with crumbs in their beards. Beware.
