- Phonenix in the high street, but its too dear, the indoor market is worth a look and the stalls for the odd bargain also the charity shops seem well stocked with cds and videos.

- pfft! i usually make a trek down to plymouth to bigga records. they stock THE best stuff around. drum n bass, hip hop, breakbeat, and all that dancy stuff too.
- Phoenix? Pretty good. Used to be further up town, and cheaper
- Pheonix Sound is the only music shop in town its pretty good just a bit expensive the other one sanity closed down a few years ago

Also a newish one opposite Argos opened recently.

- There was once an independent record store. It closed. The Virgin Store in the town centre has now been refurbished, but if it's real music you want you may as well spit in your hat.
